Yes, thank you.
no, it's the magnetosphere. birds RELY on the magnetic field just like we now rely on sat navs.
if my sat navs stop working, as they did today, for about 10 minutes funny enough for me, (I use 2, Garmin and Tom Tom in my work) I am BLIND!
seriously, i was just stopped there, not knowing where the fuck I was!
that is the second time that has happened this past couple of months.
one, yes it's just random, but when two different models go offline at the same time, something isn't right with the big birds up there in space!
Sure buddy. If that helps you sleep at night then please continue to believe in such drivel.
I think you're the shill.
i'm lying about that, am I?

no mate, you need to get out of that basement and actually EXPERIENCE things, out there, in the REAL world, if your Mom will just release you from the handcuffs she's got you hooked up to the radiator with. |

I gotta say this:
I posted this on GLP to see if other people around the planet have noticed anything like what I have been noticing, not as a reason to start calling people names and just generally being nasty to each other!!
WTF is the matter with you people? This was supposed to be a conversation, not a name calling championship!!

Junkoes, Finches, Sparrows, Chickadees, Down, Hairy, and Ladderback woodpeckers, all just working like crazy. Even saw a Flicker this morning, and a Pileated woodpecker the other day. Also having good sized flocks of turkeys coming through, and my neighbor's chickens. |

I have noticed recently that there has been a big lack of birds feeding at my feeding posts I have set up. Usually, there will be a flurry of birds shagging ass when I step out onto my front porch to go to my car or have a sit and a smoke.
I realized a couple of weeks ago that the feeders were almost untouched. Then I noticed that the usual bird sounds one hears at night in the mid-south are mostly gone. You can still hear a set of calls here and there, but it used to be a rock concert of bird talk at night around here.
Has anyone else noticed a severe lack of birds?
Also, I travel all over the place in my job, and I have noticed deer and other small animals are hauling ass somewhere for some reason. I'm not a hunter, so I have no idea if this is normal or not.
It seems that something is underfoot. First the bees, now the birds... what's next? Cows?
:Cow Lick: Quoting: JimTheOwl
I'm in SW OH and the Robins and Grackles left left almost two months ago. A friend--who's about an hour drive away--noticed a huge lack of birds up her way too. The mornings should be teaming with song and they are all but quiet--save for the Cardinals which are here year round.
But I've also noticed that there's little sign of the Starlings of late. And they are year round as well. The regulars, to my feeders, these days are the sparrows, chickadees, the cardinals and the mourning doves.
The robins and grackles just left way too early. And I found that quite troubling. |

I agree that the seasons are off. The robins and grackles left way too early. and the starlings, which are year round here, are noticeable quiet and absent. they should at very least be flocking and soaring in areal black clouds they create. That should be happening right now and nadda! |

 | | Re: Where have all the birds gone? | Quote | There is no lack of wildlife in my yard. The birds wake me up every morning at dawn. Also plenty of bees, butterflies, lizards and as of yesterday a turtle. The birds quieten down at dusk and that's when the bats start. |
