As for me, there are few people I truly admire and those people do not talk about their own greatness. Funny though because I see them as great. Not that I see them as 'above' others, in that I see their humanity, and they have problems like everybody else.... but....they handle those things in a great way. That's the key.
Those few people I admire never speak about how great they are. In fact, they are the most humbled people that I know. Humility is a wonderful quality in a human being, and quite something to behold when it is genuine.
I have noticed there are tons of people posting on the board who talk about how enlightened they are, etc. I am starting to wonder if this board contains the highest per capita population of narcissistically inclined individuals on the internet.

I don't see the big deal, throughout the OT the singular God is constantly referred to as the LORD OF HOSTS - which infers there are other God-like beings who He is King over. Furthermore, the JPS (Jewish Publication Society) does a good job in translating the plural to "divine beings" -

Now that I present that verse so you can understand my next question which is, Where is your second witness scripture backing up Matthew 22:30 that both the good and bad angels are asexual?
I think you added a bit to what Christ said there. He said in Matthew 22:30 The angels that are in heaven by God.
Those angels that left their habitation, first estate (heaven) did have sex with woman, the flesh woman, and there is nothing you can do to change that no matter what your belief is. "The Sons of God denotes angels" and you can't change that no matter how hard you try. And Naphal is quite clear in the manuscripts denoting those that side stepped Gods over all plan.
Not trying to give you a hard time, nor am I out to slam dunk you. I already proved to you that Rapha is a fallen angel and the Rephaims spoke of in Gen. 14:5 are the direct offspring of Rapha, and no matter how you try to change that you cannot.Yes the Nephilim are superhuman beings aka offspring of the Naphal (fallen angels). Jude 6 verifies that something happened to bad angels that left heaven.
You can never prove that Sons of God do not represent anything but angels from heaven. If you try, then "slice n/ and dice n/ of what you try to prove who the Sons of God are will happen. (Figure of speech meaning, I will prove you wrong just as I did about the "Song of Moses". And guess what, it I promise it will be in plain sight as the words "Song of Moses" was when I pushed that issue with you.)

I present this not to give you a hard time, but to open up a real conversation of the whole scenario, not just traditions of mens teachings.
Again, go get a Companion King James bible, which is just like your King James bible (but has both the Massorah information, and information about lots of things. See App. 23, 24,25 and then come and tell us that the Massorah is incorrect. Can't take the Massorah out of the manuscripts because it keeps the Word in perfect reflection of any object or subject without loosing translation. In the simplest terms; Massorah means = from one mind to another without loosing translation. |

Hey Hardtruth, how are you today. Isn't in hard to get people to do their own homework? Isn't it kind of tough talking to a pastor or Christian who has been taught traditions of men? As I have said many times, when they have failed to do their homework, they turn to adhominum methods to promote their idea's and usually it ends up being battologia or better said, "vain repetition".

I don't see the big deal, throughout the OT the singular God is constantly referred to as the LORD OF HOSTS - which infers there are other God-like beings who He is King over. Furthermore, the JPS (Jewish Publication Society) does a good job in translating the plural to "divine beings" -

Now that I present that verse so you can understand my next question which is, Where is your second witness scripture backing up Matthew 22:30 that both the good and bad angels are asexual?
I think you added a bit to what Christ said there. He said in Matthew 22:30 The angels that are in heaven by God.
Those angels that left their habitation, first estate (heaven) did have sex with woman, the flesh woman, and there is nothing you can do to change that no matter what your belief is. "The Sons of God denotes angels" and you can't change that no matter how hard you try. And Naphal is quite clear in the manuscripts denoting those that side stepped Gods over all plan.
Not trying to give you a hard time, nor am I out to slam dunk you. I already proved to you that Rapha is a fallen angel and the Rephaims spoke of in Gen. 14:5 are the direct offspring of Rapha, and no matter how you try to change that you cannot.Yes the Nephilim are superhuman beings aka offspring of the Naphal (fallen angels). Jude 6 verifies that something happened to bad angels that left heaven.

What are you basing this opinion upon?
I ask because I am not so sure that the basis from which to determine intelligence is the ability to adapt to new stimuli. As I see it, it may indicate flexibility in an individual. But you don't have to be 'smart' to be flexible.
Intelligence is the mechanism that determines the individual capacity to learn isn't it?
Are you saying people must adapt to new stimuli in order to do that? Because I know plenty of smart people who are very set in their ways and do not welcome new situations. In other words, they are smart but not flexible.
I'd have to say I disagree with your assessment about intelligence.

I guess as a Christian, I am the only one seeing what you are doing. You are making them think for a change, and you know humans like I do, they want someone to do their work for them because they get lazy. Just as the Song of Moses says " Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: Thou art waxen fat, tho art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; The he forsook God Which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation."
The name Jeshurun is a person, but it is a play or a metaphor used to show how those "saved" give up learning and become lazy to the point where they give up their salvation to the wrong god. (Deut 32:15)
Deut. 32:16 confirms my thoughts on Jeshurun by saying he provoked God to jealousy of strange gods.
Lots of Christians are going to fall into the hands of Satan without them even knowing it because they put their trust in traditions of men. And what I have found is that when a person becomes a elder or pastor, you can't break them of their traditions no matter what you present on the table to them. Most pastors will lead their congregation into the hands of Satan without them knowing it, because of pride.
So Hardtruth, I know what it is to be the tip of the sword (figure of speech) knowing you are doing your best to find truth.
It seems many cannot separate traditions from their thoughts. (Traditions are good at times, but in the case of what is being taught today in the churches, it is not good.)
My thoughts go to scripture when I say what I have said, and in reference Isaiah 29:13 declares my truth. Nothing new under the sun, man will be man. |

As for me, there are few people I truly admire and those people do not talk about their own greatness. Funny though because I see them as great. Not that I see them as 'above' others, in that I see their humanity, and they have problems like everybody else.... but....they handle those things in a great way. That's the key.
Those few people I admire never speak about how great they are. In fact, they are the most humbled people that I know. Humility is a wonderful quality in a human being, and quite something to behold when it is genuine.
I have noticed there are tons of people posting on the board who talk about how enlightened they are, etc. I am starting to wonder if this board contains the highest per capita population of narcissistically inclined individuals on the internet.
I see where you are coming from, some of the best people I know are die hard Christians, some of the worst people I know are as well. Some of the best people I know are Buddhists, some of the worst are as well (you see where I am going here?)
And by best, I do not mean the most financially successful, but the most at peace, solid families, etc.
If you feel Christianity has moved you, and moved your heart, there is no need to argue over nonsense, like you seem to know, let your actions speak for your faith. |

I cannot control God as He judges me and neither can you or anyone.

I think of William Tyndale. This poor man tried to translate the bible for common people and was killed,dug up,and burned by the Catholic Church. The Roman Catholics hated this man and hunted him down and killed him. |

I am pretty sure Jesus was familiar with these scrolls, and extra canonical tales of Enoch and Melchizedek.
By the way... the word "TRINITY" appears 12 times in the Tanakh. Does that mean you believe in the Trinity now????

The main problem I have with Christians are they seem to be motivated by a reward doctrine, its almost childish...if you do good deeds in life, you get a piece of candy when you die...how about not lying cheating or stealing because that shit is fucked up? |

Do you perceive asking candid, direct, and sometimes difficult questions in a rational manner to be 'hard?' If so, then I guess I would qualify as to your definition of 'hard.'
I am quite comfortable saying that I am 100% sure of what I believe. This is not the same as being 100% sure of what I will do at any future given moment of my life, because I do not have the ability to predict my actions the future.
More important than all that though, is that God will be 100% reliable whenever and wherever his children fail. I am 100% sure of that. With that kind of perfect help, I need not worry about any of those things you listed like being deceived or going to heaven.
I take God's promises literally in that I actually believe what he says. I mean really believe it. When we do there is really nothing to worry about. Why spend time questioning what God has already said is the case? |
