China EQ Destroys 1000 Homes - Damages 30,000

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake rumbled through China's Yunnan province Monday, injuring 28 people and collapsing 1,000 homes, officials said. The pre-dawn quake struck Binchuan and Xiangyun counties in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture.

The earthquake affected more than 280,000 people, damaged more than 30,000 homes and killed more than 430 farm animals, Yunnan Provincial Civil Affairs Department said in a statement.

Why is that report dated February 11, 2009? On the other hand, there is a November 1, 4.9 earthquake in Yunnan Province at 25 54'30 71"N 100 44'54.24"E on Google Earth.
