809173 has a good find. There, finally, the pictures can be correlated with a date (when they were captured). The descriptions all say "19981211 (YYYYMMDD)"
Now, with this data I tried to look around in the official mission status reports:

Nowhere do I see them mentioning, that they lost (which happens often) or intentionally dumped some larger object at the 11th of December.
The only "interesting" such object could be the test of SAFER ( [link to en.wikipedia.org] which they mention for the 11th. |

well from reading up on Black Knight. They think it could have been in orbit for well over 12,000 years already. Which i guess is possible. You would think it's orbit would have decayed already.

Then number 66 and so on...now, if it was space junk - why would it change shape so bloody OFTEN? This is the SAME thing. Not different. I urge you to go to Nasa's web page, download the highest resolution of the pic and ZOOM into the darn thing. Come back and tell me that this is space junk. |

No, the angle you're viewing the object at is changing and therefore you're seeing a different "shape" in a 2 dimensional picture and assuming it to be a completely different shape overall in 3 dimensional space.
