Looks similar to the gateway of the Watcher ..
Back when I was much younger and naive (16yrs old..now I'm 34), I messed around with black magic and the Necronomicon..
One particular night , a few of us were camping near the wooded area by my friend's house , and we done some meditation and done some spellwork as well as invoked The Watcher ...
I know for 3 nights straight after that , all 4 of us seen it with our own eyes , a full moon on each night .
While I know that is not supposed to be possible.. It happened ..
Not only that , but the weird thing was there were rings around the moon , sometimes between 2 and 3 of them .. all clearly defined and visible ..
It really freaked all of us out .. As we started having weird shit happen to us ...
On the 5th day , I had went and talked to someone I knew,an older lady in her 50's, who was VERY knowledgable in the black arts..
She told me, that what we done, was invoked The Watcher, or some similar entity , and that what we were seeing with the moon , was actually a portal/gate it was using to try and come to our world .. She said books like the Necronomicon are very real, and can bring forth demons and bad forces ,because the incantations and texts are incomplete ,and the ones that are mostly there , if not done right with the offerings and etc , that one can majorly piss off a demon..
Keep in mind, at the time I was pretty freaked out, as was all of us ,whether this was true or not... who knows... I have heard none of that stuff is real, that the necronomicon is fiction and etc.. But all I know is what happened to me and my friends personally... and that is enough for me to leave the unknown exactly that... UNKNOWN .. lolz
But she supposedly done some spell that evening of sorts.. and we didn't see the full moon with the rings anymore, and none of us had any more weird shit happen to us ...
Since then I haven't so much as touched one of them black magic books again , other than for entertainment/knowledge...
oh ya , something else I forgot to mention regarding the full moons and the rings ...
Us 4 were the ONLY people to see this .. All of us asked everyone we knew practically .. and there was no full moon them nights, nor any kind of rings around it .

I saw this thread and remembered that crazy week .. and I figured some of you would enjoy reading of my experience dabbling with shit I shouldn't have been at 16 yrs old ..

Gazbom, I must correct a previous mistake of mine. Your image is of a corona, NOT a halo...the first is made from evenly sized water droplets and the other is made from ice crystals...I should have noticed this!
Your link to Atoptics.com was more accurate than mine in describing what you saw.
I'm not quite sure why your had such a ragged edge, but it is unusual.
It did remind me of an awesome corona I saw October 27, one of rare color intensity. This photo is not touched up at all, not even contrast, which I usually need to use on my sky shots:
