As the world NOW moves to the new sovereign, backed-by-metals financial system, they are rushing to buy metals to back their heretofor off-balance-sheet monies. They do so in order to comply with Basel II so they can continue to do business on an international scale. |

Just in case you are serious...I'll give you the benefit of the doubt:
First of all, the worst thing you can do is live in fear. What is about to happen will occur whether you are fearful or not. It would seem to me that you will enjoy what is about to occur, a lot more, if you embraced it as a new experience.
As for living in the woods...if you WANT to live in the woods to get closer to nature, particularly your own, then you should go. However, if you are going just because you are afraid, then you will only be much more miserable and be a drag on the real people who already live in the woods.
And, you will hate it. It is very hard work to live in the woods. |

One other thing to watch for here is that banks are very large naked shorts in Comex for gold, large positions that they have used over the years to manipulate the price down. Now they are beging squeezed on the contracts and also are having to deliver gold which they do not have.
I know people have mixed feelings on the web bot efforts but they have talked about a Comex default and possible shutdown either in the gold or the silver contracts.
Coupd this with all the stories about gold being sold to multiple parties and you get the chance for a Perfect Storm.
This is true. Read an article recently where the long side of the shorts held by JPM is actually the ETFs -- not physical. It's a completely overbought, fraudulent scheme. Wise buyers are demanding the real deal, not more paper crap. Quoting: GlassPearls

Does IMF need money ?? NO much !!
Does India need gold ?? Very much , their needs could explode the price world wide any time , India has been have controlling gold imports through India Central Bank for a while but demand is HUGE !!!
They have been recycling gold but it is never enough for India population !!

While Indian citizens always have provided strong demand, 200 tons is a lot of jewelery. As for the IMF, didn't they just loan Iceland a bunch? How do we know they didn't need to raise more for the next country that needs assistance? Just asking.
IMF IS A PAPER WORLD BANK !! THEY HAVE NO assets but the back up from US / Asia / Europe Banks .
IMF' main goal is avoid any country risk to meltdown which could provoke a domino effect with catastrophic consequences !! in the other hand they help to maintain currencies value stable (as much as possible) AND GOLD IS A CURRENCY , THEY CAN ISSUE PAPPER GOLD (derivatives, futures ,swaps and other idiotic forms of gold) to control the price/demand BUT they CAN'T supply physical GOLD !!
In other words : IMF is helping to control Dollar price with cheap US Gold ....for a while or short term .

Kitco Gold currently up $25 SILVER UP $.73
I am not sure what exactly precipitated this but my best guess would be that a whole lot of longs have asked for their METAL on first call and the SHORTS are trying to cover. At last glance it appears there are a HUGE NUMBER of NAKED SHORTS in both Gold and Silver. If this thing has legs these guys (BANKS) are so screwed it is pathetic. |

When this things breaks wide open paper dollars will be exposed for what they are truly worth.

Gold and silver will do you no good when the grocery stores are cleaned out overnight no matter how much they are worth.
Would you trade a case of soup, loaf of bread and jug of water for some gold and silver coins if there was no food or water to be had?
People in cities will be starving, law of the jungle will come into play.
This thing is close people, i can smell it. |

Dollar now dropping while the PMs are holding their top.
Stocks topped last week or so and so will be heading down. When they resume down, the PMs should, too, and the dollar should rise.
But folks may be betting that this time the wave out of stocks into safety won't run into dollars but into PMs.
I do think that investors have been taking physical delivery and that the COMEX doesn't have what it should. This could get out of control.
I do think the banks have used naked shorts or whatever to suppress the PMs and could get squeezed big-time.
I think that the United States will reneg on its debt.
Probably all of the above, all at once.

While I might agree with some of your analysis I find fault with parts of it. Let's see land it can be taken under the right of eminent domain. Food, can be and most likely would be confiscated with acts against hoarding. Both of these are bulky and quite difficult if not impossible to take with you.
While barter will work for a while some form of medium of exchange accepted by everyone will be necessary and my take is that it will be PMs. |
