what does that mean... I am not really good with this market stuff. explain please
People buy gold/silver. Rather than physically get it, Comex gives you a piece of paper saying: You own this. You can pick it up anytime.
Folks have been trying to physically get theirs. Comex gives them the run-around because they don't have all the silver they have promised.
They sold more than they have. The lie got one step closer to being uncovered.
Gee, if an individual did that (sold more than they had), it would be called fraud and we would go to jail. One law for us, another for "them"...........

Ya, but the guy who ran that site was working off of some incorrect assumptions...
there was a 'comex default' countdown about a year ago. nothing happenned but it was getting close to crunch time.
this is bigger than that and what will be interesting to see is what will happen very soon. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 809398 |

 | | Re: COMEX: 5% of Silver HAS BEEN REMOVED!! | Quote | Timing of this is odd to say the least...for those who are watching....the Saudis just announced that they are dropping the WTI contract as a basis for their oil prices....there are many who think is move againt the NYMEX more than anything else.....which the COMEX is a part of....physical removal of Silver bullion reserves in an amount this massive and coupled with that move by SA....well....I don't really know enough about it to come to a fully thought out conclusion, but I don't think it's much of a stretch to say that the commodaties exchanges just took a couple of pretty good shots across the bow on the USS Stability.......don't know really know what might come all of this, but I'm sure there are several real bad outcome scenerios......
If I was inclined toward DOOM I might even say that the commodoties markets are under assualt and just got closer to being made more implodable.......

Why Saudi Arabia Wants To Kill The NYMEX
Last week Saudia Arabia confirmed that it would no longer sell its oil at the price of the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) contract, whose price is set at the NYMEX. Some saw it as a key step towards establishing a less US-centric international oil market. Of course, the question of what oil is priced in (dollars, euros, etc.) remains a source of considerable consteratnation.

STOP PRESS. MASSIVE WITHDRAWAL OF SILVER FROM COMEX WAREHOUSES
COMEX Warehouse Stocks November 2, 2009
SILVER
2,584,384 ozs withdrawn from the dealer’s (registered) inventory
1,042,628 ozs withdrawn from the customer (eligible) inventory
Total dealer inventory 52.70 Mozs
Total customer inventory 60.98 Mozs
Combined Total 113.68 Mozs
GOLD
ZERO ozs withdrawn from the dealers (registered) category
64 ozs deposited in the customer (eligible) category
Total dealer inventory 2.32 Mozs
Total customer inventory 7.10 Mozs
Combined Total 9.42 Mozs
Holy smoke! Look at that silver movement. The Brinks trucks must have worn ruts in the pavement hauling that much silver out of the warehouse in a single day. 2.5 million ounces was withdrawn from the dealer inventory and 1 million from the customer inventory. This is very curious, not only because of the size, but because in October there were only delivery notices for 250,000 ozs of silver during the whole month. Some one needs some physical silver in a hurry. Meanwhile the gold movement remains comatose! Can you imagine a day in a bona fide warhouse where 3.5 million ozs of silver are hauled away and 64 ozs of gold is deposited by a customer? Doesn’t that smack of the Marx brothers a “Night at the COMEX”! |

You have to take delivery of all the physical silver that you can, then force the naked shorts to cover. This will shoot the price up to $50 in a freakin' heartbeat as the shorts are forced to buy silver at any price. 100 pushups every day |

The crooks running the Comex won't let that happen.
They'll just change the rules, like they did back in the day to stitch up the Hunt brothers.
They'll refuse to deliver physical, and make the contract holders take cash, or ETF shares.

In a somewhat related topic, I was told all of my pre-1965 coins are worth more now than their face value because of the silver content. Any truth to that?
Absolutely. My mom just cashed in some of hers, she said they had a face value of about $12 and the coin shop paid her about $120.
Make sure you check what you have against on an online calculator to know the silver content before selling.
Here is one:

Well, if your mom had 12 of the more common Morgan Silver Dollars at a face value of $1 each, they would go for between $20 and $22 apiece on Ebay. Since she received $120 for the silver, she was paid less than 50% of its value from whatever shop she sold them too. If she has any more, she would probably do better to just hang on to them for now or put them up for sale on Ebay. We are all agreed that your theory is crazy. The question that divides us is whether it is crazy enough to have a chance of being correct. Niels Bohr |

We played at a bar that he KNEW was going under, so his procedure was to come in and get his commission on sat night before the band was finished. Then, he'd leave before the fireworks went off as the band finds out they're not getting paid.

In reading this, I was just wondering where the Hunt Bros. are these days. Guess they are dead now or very, very old?
Remember the run and hit on the dollar a year ago in Sept? Did anyone ever find out who was behind that? I have always suspected Soros and pals but then I suspect them behind everything. |
