There is none. Just you tube. By the way, I think you need to leave the bottle out in the sun all day, or at least part of it, then it would work at night. I think.

Umm no...It just refracts light through the bottle and water like a magnifying glass! Great idea but true it doesnt solve the nightime issues!

Some peoples, especially in less developed areas will take glass bottles and mold them into the walls to act like a primitive window. All this guy did was use plastic instead of glass.
I hate it when people get credit for something that has been done already. Well, fine then.
That's retarded. Hey look everybody, if I cut a hole in my roof I have light in the daytime!! You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Re: Use a 2-Liter Bottle as a 50 Watt Light Bulb lightbulb
what it would be good for is having some light in the bathroom, when privacy is an issue. like the high dollar glass blocks that allow light to come in but someone from the outside can't watch you while you rub yourself with oil and chant "rub the lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose again"
yeah, thats what it would be good for When peaceful revolution becomes impossible, violent revolution becomes inevitable.
"Hard pressed on my right. My center is yielding. Impossible to maneuver. Situation excellent. I am attacking."
Well, thanks OP for the info on the ghetto skylight. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

Up next: Ghetto hot tub. Simply build a metal frame, using old bed frame rails, to support the old cast iron tub your neighbor threw away. Then build a fire under your tub and fill with water. Fart to make bubbles. Enjoy!

...or good luck with the epaleptic sezures from the light source ALWAYS moving...
...it would look like you were veiwing everything through a aquarium!
I'll pass.

To be fair, that only happens when the top of the water is moving. Like an aquarium with a pump moving the water, or in a pool that's being splashed about.
These bottles are completely full of water and wouldn't "shimmer" like your talking about.

I'm pretty sure I saw a video of this before, only, they were leaving the bottles out during the day and bringing them in at night for light.

Re: Use a 2-Liter Bottle as a 50 Watt Light Bulb lightbulb
So far on this thread you have learned how to: Make a skylight and a hot tub. Now I will teach you how to collect rainwater as if by magic.
You will need a roof, gutters, and a barrel. Cut one of your downspouts to allow your barrel to fit. Remove bung from barrel. Align cut downspout to opening in barrel. If the gutters are clean rain will flow into the barrel. It is recommended you sterilize your water before consuming.
