Didn't some country just drop the dollar recently or said they would. I wish I could remember where I saw that.

Re: GOLD at highest yet? $1084.20Quote

This happened last month at the beginning of the month. I predicted it would happen again at the beginning of this month.

On October 5th, gold shot up $35 in one day. The reason for the jump was that a major player bought a gold futures on the last day of September and demanded delivery of the physical gold.

The supplier tried to offer a 25% premium in cash if they didn't have to deliver. The holder of the future's contract said, no thanks, you must deliver in five days as is stipulated in the contract. Hence gold soared on the fith day, as the supplier needed to cover.

My guess is that the recent India story could be a smoke screen. That story has been there for a day or two, so the sudden delayed jump might not fit that story.

But if a supplier is trying to get its hands on some gold to cover the delivery date, it would cause a spike like we are seeing now.

This tactic could be exercised over and over again with each new month. - at least until the whole charade goes up in smoke.

I suspect it is a government, because if a private group tried this, they'd be sleeping with the fishes within days...just like the buddy of Madoff drown in his pool.

If India bought 200 tns from the IMF, this price move is nothing compared to the news. The IMF has been threatening to sale 400 tns for years and one transaction just removed half of their metal. China had already said they would take it all so the way I see it there is 200 tns more of demand than metal in that one transaction. Did the US congress vote to approve the sale? I missed that apparently.

Cause there's a worldwide financial collapse coming fast caused by $1 QUADRILLION of OTC derivatives that will wipe out all paper?

I dont understand - you can't eat gold?! There is no value in that babaric relic. Gold is just an old yellow metal that can be found everywhere in the ground, it has the same value as dirt in most ways, because that's where it comes from.

If anyone wants any gold, all they gotta do is buy a metal detector, or just go out in their yard and keep digging, you'll eventually come across this abundant relic of a useless item.

This gold bull is only just beginning. I pity those who diss gold, do not own any, and think gold is peaking.

Well, gold will peak I guess one day - but today is not that day. I will not be surprised to see gold @5000 in the near future, especially when the rumors of the tungsten-infused gold bars prove true, and people start demanding delivery of all the bars that don't exist at the Comex warehouses.

That gonna be funny. Gold is going to explode; 1650 by year's end, 2500 early 2010, then a biiiiiiig pop to 4500-5000 either later next year or 2011 when all the johnny-come-latelys get in on the bandwagon.
