I think Coke is more of a gateway drug.
Because it only stays in you system for 3 or 4 days and people don't have to worry about drug test as much.
Also I find coke alot more easier to get (the state I live in) that pot. A $40.00 gram aint nothing to find here.
So I say legalize pot (for 21 year olds) and continue the drug war on coke if you have to. |

The biggest gateway drugs are the pills prescribed by your doctors, painkillers, anti-depressants, etc. Pot is candy next to these legal poisons.
Basically all the prescription garbage that killed Heath Ledger's, taken AS PRESCRIBED, are the thing that gets people into drugs. Anybody stupid enough to take them and "trust" big pharma deserves what they get, same goes for the bad stuff like cocaine and heroin. If pot is so bad, how come it is IMPOSSIBLE to overdose on it, the worst than can happen is you end up eating cookie dough, laughing your ass off at a movie, jamming out with your friends, hitting the sack, then waking up a new man the next morning, hangover-free. I don't do it personally, but I know about it. |

I was up there in Colorado a while back..pot is ok but they'll throw you under the jail for littering. Throw a cigarette out a window and you won't even get a trial. Breckinridge is for the wealthy and their Mexican servant..everyone's happy up there.

Not sure where you were going with this response. I've been in CO for 15 years now, just to give a reference point(and yes, I do have my medical card). If you live anywhere you should be thrown under the jail for littering. If you can't respect your surroundings, then move, but always be respectful. Don't throw your shit all over the place. I wish I could have seen the '80s here :). Breck is a great town and Kudos to their efforts!! I wish my little mountain town was that on the ball (though we do have more medical dispensaries per capita than anywhere else in America... I think). As another poster responded though, don't move here just because of the marijuana factor. Change the state you live in!! Besides, you may find you really hate 6 months of real winter, 1 month of real summer and the rest is a crapshoot (not in any specific order either...). As our own Governor stated in '02, "The whole state is burning!"

many good people ruined life when they started on Po t with drg using friends .. then they graduated on to hard drugs which were expensive . Afte getting hooked on hard drugs which are expensive they thn began to steal or do small time drug dealing for thier supply. HOLDING A JOB WAS TUFF CAASE OF DRUG TESTINGS.. THEN ARREST FOR A SMALL OFFENCE ADDED CHARGES WHEN DRUGS WERE FOUND..OPPS ..Now they are in big trouble and will need expensive lawyer . here come expensive probation poss jail imes THEY MAY LOSE THIER APT WHILE IN JAILL ... The last thing we need are more lazy, stupid, useless eating teenagers laying around stoned out thinking 'everything is fine'. Everything is not fine and there is a very good chance you and everyone you know will be 6' under in a year. A big part of it is because the real men in the US have to carry the burden of everyone. Elderly, women, children, sickly, >even the teens<.
