Best Places To Purchase Silver Coins?	Quote
I would like to buy silver coins. Any suggestions on the best places to do this? Some places charge so much in shipping that it is not worth while. Any suggestions? Should I find local sellers? I know there is always Ebay....but I'm not sure if that is the best way to go? Any suggestions appreciated. Big girls need BIG guns.

I had really good luck with my local coinshop! It was kinda an old boy's club, but while I was talking to the owner, I was listening to the guys, and I felt like I had walked into glp! I looked up the price on apmex first, and he was very reasonable.

Ebay is good for a lot of things, but "deals" on silver there are tough to find. Numistatic (collector) or 'junk' bags? I think 'junk' is the way to go, and with rising prices, it sure isn't 'junk' at all.

Try Craiglist and Kijiji in your area. Post o listing looking for silver. I bought a pile of silver coins for about $15 each in the summer from a guy who needed to sell them no questions asked -- and I didn't.

besides, nothing beats the variety of Ebay, just my opinion

alot of the stuff on there was added a few weeks ago when metal prices were lower..buy them up before the seller realizes!

another thing, if your looking for small amounts of silver, search for bank bars.. not only is it a silver investment, but its a historical investment if that bank collapses!

When silver drops in price the spot on these rises, so you will take less of a loss if silver drops by buying silver eagles.. dealers will always pay spot or more for them, whereas they'll pay a buck under spot for other silver, and on ebay you'll get more over spot for them.

Yeah they cost a buck more per ounce but they are really worth it at $1.79 over spot at apmex.

They look good, and you don't lose that dollar over spot you are paying ever really.

OP, first try to get silver .999 or o.925 !! anything less you will have a hard time to sell in the future !! Try to buy as close to spot price !! No numismatic expensive coins , etc !! IMO

dont get anything off ebay if your just starting out. try to save up and buy in bulk that cuts down on shipping cost.. I started going to local coin shows, when your there you will see lots of people selling bullion. I always try to stick with bullion that has a monatary value stamped on it.

I got mine from local dealers please buy small pure coins or bars. Make sure it says .999 fine or pure silver engraved on it. I would get 1/10 ounce, 1/4 oz., 1/2 oz. and then get 1oz , 2oz, 5oz. 10oz, 12oz., 16oz, 32oz ect... I have 1/10 ounce englehard silver coins very cool and could be a time for bartering and used as money! dont forget pre 1965 silver coins are 90% silver
