Usually elderberry is great but with a cytokine storm....NOT ADVISED....as I recall...I have some of my main books away right now-so I cannot research for you but please do check as this flu is "unique"
sambucol from Israel is generally good too but with this stuff...not advised...
Vitamin D is very important...as are all vitamins, minerals, salts....and clean water
but do check. ************************************

Actually, that is disinfo. Elderberry lowers the viral load which lessons the cytokine storm. Echinacea is something I never use because 99% of what's on the store shelf is low quality anyway. There are better remedies. But as long as someone has enough Vit. D and zinc and lowers the viral load, they are protected from the cytokine storm. Even if someone is deficient the elderberry will help with the viral load. |

Lomatium works for me!
I started using it (sparingly) about a year ago. Any flu-like I have had, I've been able to zap in 24 hours with Lomatium.
However ... do your research, and pay attention to the potential side effects.

Yes, you are. Now for the truth about the herb
A powerful antiviral plant used by Native Americans to survive the 1918 influenza epidemic may prove to be a strong modern-day cold and flu remedy, according to a report from the University of California.
The root -- called Lomatium Dissectum, Biscuit Root or Indian Consumption Plant -- was eaten by the Washoe Indians to battle viral illnesses such as influenza. During the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, not a single Washoe tribe member died from influenza or its complications. However, other tribes living in Nevada in areas where the plant did not grow experienced a number of deaths, according to Dr. Ernst T. Krebs, a Nevada physician writing in the Bulletin of the Nevada State Board of Health.
I decided to Google some images to see if we had any growing on our land. We don't. It only grows in the rain shadow of the Sierras and Cascades - the dry eastern slopes of the mountains. As you can see, it is a member of the parsley family with flower umbrels like its cousin, Queen Anne's Lace and wild parsnips. Like parsnips (and it's cousins carrots), lomatium has a huge root which is what is used medicinally. pride of lions...gaggle of geese...a murder of crows...and my favorite....A CONGRESS of baboons.... |

Now that is interesting. There is another thread today (I'll try to find the link) that talks about carrots being a key to avoiding fatal effects of this latest bug!

Did you purchase this oil?
Assuming this Lomatium Root oil is extracted from the lomatia family (biscuit root, Big Medicine Lomatia)?
I find the plant around here, must be careful as it resembles other (poisonous) parsleys.
Just a wet-blanket general caution for gatherers from the wild.

If the flu progresses stop taking it and switch to a high quality resvertrol extract to prevent the storm. DO NOT TAKE ELDERBERRY EX IF YOU ARE ALREADY BEDRIDDEN BECAUSE IT WILL INCREASE THE SEVERITY. |

Good info Kirk, thanks!

Thanks for the reply Aquarius 7.
Good, Bighorn Botanicals is reputable.
I wondered at the description of Oil. Lomatia isn't particularly oily, actually natives pounded the root out and made a type of flour with it. It's fairly tasty, as roots go. LOL
Tincture is made by adding alcohol to a distilled oil or a condensed tisane/tea made from an herb. A good way to preserve herbal extracts over time. |

You're welcome, locomotion.
It's always good to get an outside opinion about a distributor ... although I've had no cause to doubt their integrity. Anything I have purchased through Dr. Horowitz has seemed to be of an excellent quality.
As to the taste, lol ... it's not something I'm particularly crazy about!
But it does the job, so that's what matters.
So far, Lomatium is the best herbal anti-biotic I have ever run across.
