That's exactly what you should expect to find in a NEBULA where stars are being born. They're not alien spaceships.

I just posted the pics let the others decide and even if it was a decade then the positions would be somewhat different because of the size of area these proto events changing - true? The light that traveled from there takes many many years yes? So in respect to your answer then shouldn't those holes be a lot larger?

As gravitational forces drag matter together, it coagulates towards a sphere, but of course the 'stuff' isn't regularly shaped or evenly distributed. So that results in a rotation which ensures that the shape ends up as a flattened sphere or disc, depending on how much imbalance there was/is, and the speed of rotation that develops.

A flattened sphere, side-on, is a cigar shape.
