1)Not all muslims are like this. Many many MANY of them are in the military either due to a duty toward America, or for the $$$ (these both being the two main reasons ANYONE joins the military).
2)Not all of those in middle-eastern nations are like you describe. You may not realize it, but there are progressive movements in every country, including middle-eastern ones. If *everyone* there was a 'rag-head terrorist', there wouldn't just be a handful of explosions a day, there would be outright riots and civil warfare that no military could ever hope to handle. |

The fact is that the religion, as coded in the Quran, taught and practiced, does indeed teach this. Whether "not all Muslims are like this", that's a significant security risk. Even if only 10 percent of Muslims buy into the teachings of their religion, that's still a big security risk.
Why should Muslims not be kept out of the U.S. military and positions of trust in the U.S., based on that? |

Face it, our young aren't up to the task of fighting the kinds of crazy making wars we're attempting these days.
I remember when our Nam veterans came back traumatised by the insanity of the situation.
Now our military are committing suicide in record numbers. They seem to have been as tainted as the rest of the population.
First thing I thought of? Columbine. This kind of stuff seems to go along with this generation. If you don't like what someone's trying to make you do - shoot 'em.
Where'd they learn that from?
(Notice I'm not even going to tackle the increasingly obvious problem of harboring the "enemy." Why the heck are we fighting "them" over there? Bring the boyz home where we need them for protection.) |
