Somebody please explain to me why this has to have so many religious overtones?
Are there Christians who would lose their faith if there were others in the Univers?
Or would it conclusively prove there is no God to some?
I just can't grasp why it's a religious issue.

That's how they see it, but even if that is the case I've never seen a christian once say why God couldn't have spread his creation efforts elsewhere in existence. To me those using that line for being alone are ego and fearful minded. We choose to be alone is a better way to say it. 0 3 5 6 7 9 12 15 17 19 23 28 29 31 33 35 42 47 53 66 57 77 88 89

Why are so many Christians bothered by such possibilities?
God is, by definition, omnipotent, and can do whatever the fuck He/She wants.
I'm Christian, and God did NOT state "You guys are the only ones..". I believe that a creator capable of being the author of all life as we know it, including the complex system of cells, atoms, etc, would be capable of creating life elsewhere!

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

So, Space-Aliens are OK by you?
I guess you'd have to try and proselytize them, though?

...including other dimensions. I am Christian, and the Bible does teach about life elsewhere.

I read some calculations where it concluded there are more stars than grains of sand on earth.
I am not really a Christian fundie, but I find it remarkable that in the Bible (Old Testament if I am not wrong), it is written that there are as many stars as there are grains of sand on the Earth. Quite striking when you think how long ago biblical texts have been written.

I remember a website I visited, where it compared the text of Revelation to the original meanings, revealing extremely frightening prophecies of those to come that fit perfectly into the current time-line, with all the deception, and the Ashtar Galactic command and such.
