I can bet that if we had them ARMED with at least ONE sidearm on the base , that MOFO....would of been shot dead the first shot he fired!!

Thats why there is so much crime outside of military bases. They know the soldiers carry cash and they damn sure cant go through the gate with a gun and all the ones on post are safely locked away in the arms room. Well, here rears the ugly head of truth. Once again, unarmed people were overwhelmed by a lone gunman. This tragedy is 100% preventable, as were Columbine, Virginia Tech, and even the newest one in Orlando. Also, the Luby's cafeteria, the McDonalds in southern California, and most others. How, you ask. By arming up! The rules about concealed carry in this country are only causing these typs of things. This jackass at Ft. Hood KNEW, without a doubt, that he would get a high body count. He KNEW that not even 1 in a 1000 would be armed on that base. Same with every other "Gun-Free Zone". These only serve to create a huge, target-rich, usually confined area. Schools, resaurants, bases, etc. They all serve as pens fied with lambs for the wolves to slaughter. And the sheepdogs are either too few, too far away, or unarmed because the little fuzzy bunnies get nervous around the mere thought of speaking about a lead dispensing tool. MAKES ME SICK!! Heinlein said "An armed society is a polite society." I say "An armed society makes a SAFE society." License, train, and teach people about guns, and then allow them to carry however they want, open or concealed. Let them protect each other without the fear of having some name-making DA smear campaign ruining their life. Let the people of this country protect themselves and their loved ones, and I bet things would change quickly, for the better. More politeness, consideration, and LESS CRIME! Why is this so hard for so many to grasp? |

of course those killings might be preventable, but in the end you would probably have more killings. Right now, if someone does me wrong I'd have to physically beat them up, risky. if everybody had guns, 1 shot in a fit of anger would solve the problem. It's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation. It's just as risky if everybody had a gun or if only a few criminals did.

If this were true, then there should be constant examples of CCW holders pulling weapons d killing someone. There should be massive shootouts on firing ranges accress the country. Every hunting season should be a blood bath. Do you really think that every CCW holder will pull their weapon every time they can? No, they won't. Carrying a gun doesn't make you a superhuman warrior who lashes out at everything around you at the slightest loud sound. If anything, it makes you more aware of your surroundings, and what you have to lose. Just like these troops, not everyone will fight back, armed or not. Most people won't. It's called the flight or fight response. Most people will not run into a firefight, burning building, at a gunman, etc. But the ones who would, the sheepdogs that are willing, should have the tools to defend those around them. |
