Bluebird, the above is not in the Qur'an (that I have found and from what many have shared with me) and traditional Muslims (non extremists) do not believe this.
In fact, Sharia law protects the religious freedom of "dhimmis" (those who practice other religions).

I have my agreements with many of the arguments coming from people I don't necessarily see completely eye to eye with up here. I do believe that the military needs to get the fuck out of Iraq and Afghanistan. I am a veteran of both conflicts myself. I dobelieve that the military will use this tragedy that happened yesterday at Ft.Hood to whip up undue support for a failed war, that serves no purpose except death on all sides. Withdraw...they will go back to killing themselves without our help. I dobelieve that our military is broken and morale is in the shitter because these guys and gals have been worn out...which is why I ETS'ed when I had the chance. Islam aside, this dude could have just been a worn out soldier with severe PTSD himself, even though he was a psych doctor. But when facts about his personal life emerge with things he posted on sites saying Americans deserve to die and other crazy shit, while he is still under oath to defend the constitution and America's people, then he is wrong as two boy scouts in the same fart sack, Sarge. He could have just bided his time and got the hell out if he didn't agree with the war. He killed innocent civilians and his own brothers and sisters in uniform because of his beliefs. Those kind of beliefs should not be tolerated. |

Here is my point - people should be judged on their actions. Not on their beliefs. A good way to judge whether you are in line with the principles of individual liberty and individual responsibility is to put an aspect of yourself in place of the topic at hand.
For example, would you be ok with saying no Christian/Jew/Woman/Person with blond hair should not be allowed to serve in the military?
The principles remain the same, regardless of who you put in there.
Do I think we should just roll over? Hell no! But you also can't sacrifice the very principles we are supposed to be fighting for in the first place.

Well, while I think Islam is very mis-guided and many factionz of it are horrible, can we really speak much more highly of the various warring denominationz of Christianity ? Traditional Christianity has been responsible for more wars and more blood-shed than any other religious faith. Islam wasn't even in existence until like approximately 700 A.D. Most of Christianity had twisted and perverted God's Word, but there are truths which God has been revealing to His Church for many many centuryz of time, and there is only one church-body that God has been working with, it is the only Church that God is working in, God is not working in any other church-body, because if that were the case, then the Bible would be false.
