Yes as humanity we are divided. But we are not fighting poeple so much as a dangerous MEME. As Nazism and the brutal Christianity in the past, we have a new MEME to defeat. Radical ISLAM.
Sometimes a MEME is defeated by a better MEME, such as the Enlightment defeated old style Christianity. Sometimes a MEME is defeated by force of arms as in WW2.
This time it appears as radical ISLAMs MEME has managed to convince many MUSLIMs that the Tolerant MEME that is Western Civilization is evil. As such reasoning with ISLAM becomes very difficult. Frankly impossible. I expect that this contest between MEMEs will end badly. |

Well i think today's events did exactly what it was intended to do. As i read through this thread I'm disgusted in some of the posts here. Hands up those who really, truly understand Islam?????? Just what I thought , not many. Today's tragedy was designed to get the kind of response most of you are giving and this is an extremely sad thing. Gulpers, of all people should be able to smell a set up from a mile away and that's exactly what this was. Man! Here of all places. It doesn't take a whole lot of research to find that our perception of Islam is programmed by the media. It's a basic psy-op run on us by the religious right. It's so freakin obvious, but everybody still falls for it. I bought it too, for a long time, but not anymore. Break it down. You think you know what happened with this event (or whichever event you want to examine), where did your info come from? Who owns the media? Whose agenda are the owners of the media gonna push? Doesn't it all start to look alike after awhile? ALL religion is to blame, not just Islam. |
