I am so happy this healthcare bill passed, it will be better for everybody now.
The ones screaming faul only fear change, and change is what people voted for.
So we must celebrate the democratic system, hail the USA for being the bastion of freedom, including the freedom to be stupid.

This isn't free health care or even cheap health care it just mandates that you buy ever decreasing shitty healthcare from a gaint corporation or the government itself...
if you don't you'll have to pay an extra 2.5% income tax or goto prison dumb ass, how can this be better than what we had before?
And after you pay the 2.5% tax THEN you have to buy insurance and after 2013 it is illegal to buy any but govt plan.
Instead of free healtcare, you are forced to BUY it from the government.
Now we know what Obama meant when he said more jobs will be lost. All those poor people to work for insurance agencies are truly fucked.

Can you explain what that means? Not enough votes.
The Senate has their own bill but they need 60 senators out of 100 to vote to prevent a fillabuster and allow a vote on the bill. They need 51 Senators to pass the bill. They have enough Dems but not all of them support the bill.
If they pass the bill, they have to then merge their bill with the dem bill and then get Obama to sign it.
As of today they didn't have 60 senators to move the bill to the floor for a vote. Quoting: PACNWguy

Unless in direct opposition to federal law, states would be required to accept the provisions of this bill if it were signed into law.
One of the provisions is worded to say that any state that attempts to limit the fees awarded to malpractice lawyers and the damages awarded to plaintiffs would be denied any federal funding.
A state required to ensure that its citizens were insured or either face significant fines on said state, or face potential fines and imprisonment of its citizens would have what type of recourse against the government. |

Reform is need on ALL levels. But the reform needs to be ending corruption and fraud. Bringing health care under the biggest corrupt and fraudulent umbrella of all, the .gov. accomplishes nothing.

all they have to do is go to the ER and they will get care and social workers will sign them up for MEDICAID.......no one currently goes without care in the US unless they choose to or are to proud or stupid to go on the dole, even illegal aliens....

The administration has said that their will just be "healthy competition" and an increase in available choices. But as the private companies are forced to compete against the government-run company, the smaller companies will go bankrupt (from increased taxes / fines and decreasing revenue / "clients") and they will fall one by one to the machine. |

Part of it is on Page 297 of the bill itself. That's the tax part. The table for premiums is on Page 252. And I think they sneaked the criminal penalty in during the dead of night in amendment but not sure on that jail part.
Now can someone provide a link quickly to the actual bill so she can show him?,

well, I can tell you....it will be salaried doctors with no incentive to do anything for their patients except get through the day, kind of like when you call any government bureaucracy and try to get help. You will be lucky if you ever get a chance to see a doctor as the care will be provided by nurse practitioners, and if you do see a doctor, you will be lucky if you can understand them thru their heavy accent....kind of like the VA hospitals or the Indian reservations, only much worse! |
