doctors said it was likely psychosomatic.....it would be normal for a placebo effect to change her mental attitude and thus "cure" her

no holistic medicine would heal the nervous system in this short amount of time......all nerve injuries take forever to heal!

I'm glad she is better!

Yes, if modern medicine can't heal it, then it must not be a real disease.

Re: Desire Jenning cheerleader cured by holistic healingQuote

all diseases are constitutional. no matter how obvious the symptoms, it is just mind over matter. I have been very analytical of the last time I got sick. I noticed that my mental state had everything to do with how I got better. When I was able to accept the problem and assume personal responsibility for it, I regained focus and peace of mind, and coincidentally that was when I got better, shortly after.

It's funny how the sheep discount holistic medicine as the placebo affect as if the person is any less healed. I'll stand on my head and quack like a duck if it heals me of a sickness. Why do so many of the sheep insist that the only legitimate cure is one from the hands of the murderous medical industry?

I'm about 1% skeptical of this story...

... Only because Fox News and some TV tabloid show covered this story. And we all know the corporate media is a military operation -- the same military operation that screws us over on a daily basis.

Why did Fox News break this story?
Did an editor go rogue and allow this to come out?

With that said, someone should string together a bunch of Desire clips -- from start to end and pass this around far and wide.

I really hope this story is true.

It would help to wake up the sheep.

It makes you laugh because you are probably a linear thinker. You think in terms of cause and effect (determinism) in myopic fashion. Well, beyond this very primitive "monocular" perception of the Western world today, there is only consciousness creating reality. Everything is placebo effect, EVERYTHING. You just have to peel away the illusions -- what is left then is your own consciousness, that is, YOU. You are the cause for your own sickness. A "cure" only happens when you are able to change yourself, to change your consciousness. Notice how many "cures" of modern medicine are nothing more than patchwork that eventually allows the symptoms to return, or creates a different set of problems. The fact is: no one can escape evolution, and diseases are the means for the rapid propagation of our bodies into a higher energy state. But I mean only those diseases that don't leave life-lasting effects, otherwise the condition has a more spiritual quality to it (still propagates our consciousness to a higher level through the traumatic experience).

Hey rachel, I thought you were making fun of holistic medicine. Seems I interpreted your post wrong. sorry.

anyway, I still think that any kind of medicine is placebo, as I've explained above.

Here's a box full of air. If you believe in it, you will feel stronger and healthier.

Now give me ten thousand bucks for my box.

That's why we dislike homeopathy and placebo medicine. Not because it isn't a possible way to help someone help themselves. But because the homeopathist is helping themselves a hell of a lot more.

What's the reality? The usual reality is not a cheerleader with a good job, essentially healthy, getting a placebo basically given to her in return for publicity.

The reality is a poor struggling mother of four with a constant low-level cold, half her kids have allergy-triggered asthma, she has no health care, she can't work full time....and she's putting money into a black hole, shelling out money that could be going to groceries for tiny bottles containing not-particularly-sterile water.

Hey, I won't argue at all that the same crap is being pulled by mainstream medicine -- go down to the local Thrifty and half the OTC remedies you see there are ineffective at best and outright lies at worst.

But I don't think the answer is trusting in the pretty face of a cheerleader and the actresses and professional activists that have enlisted her to their cause. I'd just as soon trust in the kindly face of old Colonel Saunders as he tells me his greasy bucket of chicken guts is actually good for my arteries!
