I'd say it would shake out like this: The vast majority of Americans would rather risk war than give up their freedom. The only places that would that would gladly give up freedom are the inner cities.

We won't have any choice but war. They have decided that we will be a bunch of commu-fascists and that if we resist they will destroy and kill all that they can. However, if we give in the same thing will happen - just slower.

I understand this notion because it is the same attitude I have about committing to a fight. I never ever commit to a fight unless I feel it is worth dying for because I don't think there is any other point in fighting. Either I win, or I die. No one should ever fight unless the results of inaction mean that much to them.
