The seller simply needs fresh cash infusions so he sells for cheap prices from too few people who are interested in his goods anymore and had quit buying his stuff ....half of chinas wharehouses boarded up two years ago .. circuit city and other outlets is a good example they dumped thier stuff at depressed price lvls your dollar bought more quality goods for less money in deflaton times.. .... .. the dollar buys more of those durable goods and it makes the dollar stronger again because of it.. oil prices hve to drop to generate new long term demand. oil producers and companies are gonna need alot of new fresh cash soon . to keep thier doors open .. cause real demand just keeps dropping . month after month globaly with current high prices and unemployment and curent deflationary period. ... |

United States 11/9/2009 9:10 AM | | Re: OMG GOLD passes $1,105 | Quote | But think about it--we're heading towards a world government. If the economy crashes, the little guy (business man or woman) is the only one you'd be able to barter with, besides your neighbor. And they are struggling unless they are debt-free. You can't walk into
walmart and buy something with gold and expect to get change. The goal of the elite is to electronically control commerce. How are you going to take your gold coins (that may or may not be worth 3000 an ounce) and realistically conduct fair trade? How does that work? And if you need food, aren't you the one who is vulnerable instead of the other way around? And--what is preventing the government from confiscating gold once again? I have talked to many people over the course of many years who have taken their gold jewelry into a jeweler, only to be disappointed in how little the jeweler will give them for their pieces. It's only worth what someone else is willing to give you for it. Think about that one for awhile. If you have too much gold, you become a target...someone always knows you have it in one way or another. |

I agree with this comment totally. The average person on here still can't grasp the reality that things could get so tragic that even gold won't be able to save you. The next world system that is on the horizon will rule with an iron fist. There will be unbelievable control because they are trying to reduce us to peasant status....and owning gold does not fit into their plan. The little independant businessman is being snuffed out so you have to do business with big corporations...all electronically. The barter system will only work for a limited amount of time. Some people here like to play Rambo in their own mind but the reality is you will have government forces that will come at you from all sides and take what you have. Systematically. |

This may just happen. During the Bolshevic revolution in Russia, armed bandits roaming the countryside, took EVERYTHING of value from the peasants.
On the other hand, we are a nation of at least 180,000,000 armed citizens, where in Russia, the people had no way to defend their country against their enemies.
Every country that has been disarmed suffered the fate of totalitariansim with millions dead in its wake. Want and abject poverty always followed.

MY basic idea of owning gold and silver was to wait till the paper dollar was almost worthless/gold at $3000 an ounce; and silver at $300 an ounce, THEN sell some to others who will be clamoring to get OUT OF PAPER !
With the worthless money, I pay back the banksters that I owe with there OWN paper crap !
Your other arguement about NOT being able to buy/pay for things is FULL of HOLES ! When most people are HOLDING onto their gold/silver as prices rise, others will want some but NOT be able to buy.
As a man I heard of did, so may you/others. He had his car repaired when gold was about $420 an ounce. The bill came to just over $500. He offered the assistant manager either cash OR a gold coin. The man TOOK the coin and paid the bill himself. When the former gold owner came in a couple of days later, he found that the assistant manager had sold the same coin for OVER $500 to the manager ! POINT here IS, few of the 'masses' even know/THINK about gold/silver until they are presented with the chance to own same and JUMP !
Peace.

But Eagle...you are making assumptions here. There might be such doom coming our way that you aren't able to do that.
I have already done what you are speaking of...selling gold
to buy things with my dollars. Are you telling me that you still owe the bank money? Or are you free and clear as of right now? Yes, it sure makes sense to do what that man did--I understand the concept--what you don't understand is the circumstances we may be in. You may not be able to sell that coin to the assistant manager for $500 in the future and may be in for a very rude awakening. And you still assume it can't be confiscated. Some people might just find that they waited too long for that scenerio. Never assume. The rules will be different in the NWO.
Yes, in some cases--it's smart for a business owner to do
business that way. I was a business owner myself and understand--but if you put all of your eggs in one basket you are vulnerable...gold is only worth what someone will give you for it. In the future, the rules will be different. It doesn't matter if gold reaches 10,000 an ounce--don't you understand that? If you don't understand that, I feel sorry for you. I bought gold at 250... |

precious metals can never go to zero...its like saying a BMW will go to zero...too much hard work to make it...to rare and too classy
paper on the other hand....thousands upon thousands of examples where paper money has gone to zero...no confidence in the issuer when they go bankrupt
if a gold mine goes bankrupt and folds...all the gold it produced will still hold the same value years to come
get the picture folks? Quoting: Avian
A BMW cannot go to zero?
Why not?
what`s the worth of a BMW without gas? If there is no gas available any more, so what is it?
It´s just a lot of metals and plastic.
Without gas you can`t even keep the battery charged to open the doors or listen to the radio.
The "hard work to make it" is worthless then.
You can use the metals inside as simple tools, the seats to sleep on and so on, but nothing in the world has a "worth" just a price. |

The enormous naked short positions in silver by GS, JPM, and BOA are holding down the price of silver. The current silver to gold ratio is 62.69 and is absolutely absurd. The classic ratio for thousands of years was 15 to 1. Once Crimex defaults, the ratio will return closer to normal and silver will soar against gold.

some people have no logic. gold is gold, you cant change what it IS.
earlier this year, i brought and sold small amounts of scrap gold to make about 20% on each transaction,
when i started, i had to search around for buyers, i found many dishonest retards trying to rob me of my gold,
for example,
ne place this lady tried to say she doesn't usually do the buys but her husband does and he is away, she offered me about 10% of its actual value for about 100grams of mostly 18k scrap. she then tried reasoning with me about 'old gold' witch i disputed, then tried to reword it as 'used/2nd hand gold, now i was starting to get annoyed and she starts spouting off that its been heated, and once its been heated// i cut her short and asked her does she understand how gold is made into bars from scrap, and that no gold content is lost?
she still wouldnt listen, and cracked it at me and guess who pops his head in from the back room? her husband..
i then realized that they have that routine worked out to a T and many female customers would get stooged thinking this lovely lady couldnt possibly rip them off.
i must of went to no less than 20 places, and 5 of those 20 paid over 90%, half paid as little as possible (10 - 50%).
the best place i found used a machine to xray the items, so it can tell you how much is in there, and around 40% of the time the gold content is around 3 - 5% lower than hallmarked.
it can also do alluvial nuggets, and tell you the percentage of gold content and would gladly buy them over scrap jewelery. that guy would pay 95% and because he was the most honest he got my business.
but if i had any nuggets to sell, they seem to get 110% of gold value on ebay,
and not only that say its a 3gram nugget, but its really only 2.3 because its not pure, rocks etc.. ebay, they still pay 110% of what it would be if it was 3grams. |
