If you put some silver coins in water....
And kept in the fridge for drinking- would that help you fight bacterial infections?

I know in days gone by that folks used to keep a silver coin in their milk bottles to keep the bacteria at bay and also that silver is anti-bacterial.

Anyone do this or heard of it? Thoughts?

just learn how to make colloidal silver...it's quite easy and would be more effective than a coin in water.

I have the stuff for making it and you're right. I'm just asking about this as well. ;)

Ah, good to know. Thanks guys/gals!!!

I was thinking of doing this as 'maintenance' because I drink a lot of water, won't have to remember to take my colloidal, and then using my colloidal silver if I actually do start getting sick.

The pioneers used to throw some silver dollars in their water barrels. Hopefully, it cleaned the water with the buffalo crap in it.

Hopefully you are referring to ***pure silver*** coins, as the US coins in general circulation are loaded with dangerous metals.

If you use a .9999 pure silver coin like a Canadian Maple Leaf, it won't hurt you but the true effectiveness of colloidal silver comes from silver IONS, and that requires the full processing, using battery-provided electricity and distilled pure H2O.

In the old days farmers used to put a silver coin in their milk urn to keep the bacteria count low, so it does work on that level, but if you have the means to actually create colloidal silver, why bother with a much less effective method?

Yes, I have *real* silver. Been aware of the economic situation for awhile now. ;)

But, I'm glad you did point that out for others who may be reading the thread.

I'm not doing this as a replacement but for maintenance because I drink a lot of water as I said above. If it doesn't hurt me and may help then why not?

I'll be using my colloidal if I get sick.

Throw a silver coin into a new carton of milk, and let it go a week beyond the expiration date. If it's still good at that point, you will know first hand. I got tired of my milk always being soured before I could use it all, and started pouring about a tablespoon or two into it. Small cost to preserve it.

OP, if you have what is needed to make your own, don't wait until you get sick to use it! It only costs cents a day, a very small price for insurance for your health.

One of the first ways to get benefit from silver was when mom on the farm after milking, dropped silver coins in the milk (raw, fresh).
Milks properties somehow suspend the silver. your plan is not good.

That's interesting and info I was looking for- thank you. Guess maybe it isn't a good idea. :) Darn it. I can't remember to take my colloidal everyday, much less remember to get the entire family to do it. I'm just not good w/any type of 'regimen'. Shoot.

Make sure it's fine silver, ie. Silver Eagle, or better.

Give it a good cleaning first, then drop it into your water/milk container.

A really EASY way to do colloidal silver daily for maintenance, is to keep it where you brush your teeth and after brushing and rinsing, shwish some in your mouth, helps the gums and then swallow it. Otherwise, if you have clean water in containers, you can add some of your silver to each one for maintenance. It's not that hard to figure out, really.

Re: If you put some silver coins in water....
Hippocrates wrote about the healing properties of silver, even before understanding our basic human anatomy! How do we know he was right about those healing properties of silver? Well, there is a strange new craze that has been catching on; it is being called... science.

Why reference the habits of ancient people to support a modern cure for cancer? Because science refuses to support our claim. That is only a big problem if you listen to certain political voices, like the muppets on Sesame Street. We never had any of those trouble makers back in good old day of Hippocrates. That is why he is the one source that can be trusted to the fullest extent imaginable. To know what is right to put into my body.

Take a deep breath and remember to wash your hands and utensils before you eat. Why not take swig of dish soap while you're at it? The safe feel of Ag in drinking water is purported or scientifically reported, whichever you prefer, to be 0.1 parts per million, but who's counting? With all the other toxins circulating daily in our home, probably some bio-chemist somewhere who went to college to specifically this reason, but nevermind that fool.

People had been using precious metals since finding them mineralized in nature, i.e. sticking out of a rock, to make stuff look pretty since ever. Lead obviously improves paint, mercury cleans things very well, and silver coins over the eyes prevents certain forms of zombiism. With billions of people in China using these products every day, one of the most innovative and resourceful nations on the planet, a red giant of industrial lead and mercury loving environmental do-gooders, with all sorts of neat stuff going on, could it be so wrong?
Simply put, if 1.3 billion people believe, and they can't be proven wrong, why should I?

Let me spell it out for you. When you don't have green floaties in the drinking well, well, that just means the water is safe to drink. Skeptics may try to preach and argue that water could contain any number of diseases and toxins which silver will just float around with. Well, not if the glass is half full, full of pure silver!

The best thing about silver is this. Nothing can ever adapt to survive lavishly off silver, well... except humans, of course! Not because silver is so rare that life has never had a reason to evolve to survive on it, that just makes sense, and expense. No, because it is like arsenic to all the disease ridden bacteria out there, well... except for bacteria that use arsenic as part of their DNA sequence, not those baceteria. Hm... let's just regeneralize by saying we could never survive it, if it wasn't good for us.

Just look at this one fact, silver bullets kill werewolves. Why? Because silver is a good cure-all.

If drinking silver water once a day for the rest of your life prevents you from getting sick once or twice a year, then there is a pay-off. In the chemistry class I took over the summer I learned that silver ionizes in water. This means it travels down to our lower intestines and starts taking notes on what causes the green floaties in our stomach and is making us sick. Isn't science great?!

Eat glass. My glaucoma is gone.

I have not been sick all year. Natural healthy ground water/worm pee is pumped at us, it is then filled with flourine, chlorine, arsenic, and lead. This is how it makes its way into a drinking glass. This could all be harmful for us, of course, without silver. It is no wonder adding a bit of silver to that mess will make E=MC^2. Other than drinking perfectly fine healthy water for an entire year, I have done nothing else to cure myself from the non-existent diseases ravaging my body.

Considering the high cost of these layers of Ag (patent pending) covering my entire body, which cleared those pesky AIDS up (can you say 'remedy'?), it is no wonder uncle Sam has failed us. After all what has science (murderer) ever done to provide you with ample amounts of silver to perform such miracles? Egads, nothing. Why they would dare choose a less expensive proven alternative medicine, oops, I meant to say "mainstream" there. After all, its the health of millions, and millions, and millions... and millions, oh screw it, hundreds of millions of people they are concerned with; not just one person. So what do they know?

My pure gold dental floss and silver toothbrush will always sit between the radiation switch on my bathroom wall and the ionization centrifuge on the floor. Protecting my entire family from those filthy pipes running through my yard like a garden hose stuck on a septic tank.

I know nobody has time to investigate all matters of science. We have to trust eachother to provide helpful hints. Afger all, science just looks stupid next to a bottle of silver awesomeness.

Yeah I've heard of it, but whatever you do, do NOT make colloidal silver and drink it... I know all the claims etc... But I'm going to tell you something NO ONE wants to tell you.
I knew this lady, in Shelton WA, when I was the gate keeper/security patrol at Fawn Lake. She ingested that colloidal silver crap claiming it would cure her M.S. She did it for about a year, and one day woke up with half her face gray! I mean gray!!! It NEVER went away. Now she may have been making it too strong, or just did too much, but WOW would you want to take that chance??? When I saw that, I freaked out, she left her position on the board too. It was sad.

Re: If you put some silver coins in water....
It does depend on the ions, the particle size, and charge, if it is done right with no salt and right charge in good water, it will be great, but other wrong forms of it, some sold on the market, can turn you gray and it is permanent, dont mx salt wiht the water, and make sure you use the rigth charge, and distance between the silver, and keep it away from light. I have not had any issues, and I use it for my MS and VTech. Also my kids have autism, works on them also. Just dont over dose, teaspoon or so once or twice a day, or for higher doses 2to 3 times a week, the darker the color the higher the ppm, however cloudy is not good, thta is the bad one that will turn you gray, light yellow to amber, not cloudy. that is the one you want. if it looks like water it is water, if it is cloudy water it is not colloidal silver, if it is light yellow to amber it is good to go. just dont pee in the water and try to sell it off as colloidal silver.hidinghiding
