Re: I'm a Christian pissed off at the other "christians" on GLP
We wear armour for a reason. There is a war going on, and it is not pretty. Some of us are frontline, and I don't think it is proper to expect all Christians to be meek, smiling doormats.

I come from a coarse background. I am a new person in Christ, but there is still a lot of me in here. The Lord uses my life in ways He could not use others. I witness in some damned dark places, with success I might add. I do it because I love Him.

I do not fear God. He is merciful because He can be, like no other. He knows our hearts, even better than we do. Most people can't look beyond words or momentary actions. My humility doesn't bow to people. If someone is offended by something I say, it may be all it takes to get them into the Word to seek the Truth for themselves.

Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Psa 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, [and] all the nations that forget God.
Jer 6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate [woman].
STOCK UP NOW. You should have at least 6 months worth of basics for every member of your household. Stay away from crowds when trouble starts, do not forget water storage, tobacco is worth more than gold or silver, and be kind to hungry children.

Somehow being angry at other Christians because they are not just like you are is sorta self righteous, don't cha think?

No, I don't. We are human, and in life, it is important to set boundries. If you adopt a more "new age" philosophy, that "hey, its not my thing, but who am I to judge?" you are opening yourself up to and setting yourself up for a lot of evil to enter your life. You have to judge to a degree, that which is wrong. When you are practicing a belief system that encourages you to love each other, to not cast stones, and to be humble, then you are representing that belief. People don't come here and say "If you don't believe as I do, then you are going to hell." They involke the name of Jesus, they use biblical passages to suit their judgmental agenda, and that's not cool. Im not sitting here telling other Christians that GOD is judging them. I'm telling them that I am. I am no one to judge, but-neither are they. None of us are.

Yes, it seems hypocritical. But I'm also not trying to convert anyone, or tell anyone that their belief's or lack of, are wrong.I am not calling people names, nor am I suggesting that THEY ARE PERSONALLY evil. Therefore, I am not being hypocritical and can judge it.

I can only share my experiences and my story and joys.....lead by example. Never claimed to be Jesus or have anything better than anyone else because of what I chose to believe.

IDK, I think we have to judge to decide our own path, not to condemn. I may be a different type of Christian than my brother, but who is to say which is right or which is wrong - not us, only God.

I agree that folks throw around the bible like an anvil, but just because they claim to be Christian, does not make it so. Hitler claimed to be Christian, but sometimes folks use that as a tool to control.

But the whole argument of who is and who isn't is kinda wasted energy... The focus shouldn't be on proving to others what a great Christian you are, the focus should be following what Christ said.

Very well said Turtles.

It is well said. But one of the many problems I have with Christianity is something Christ said. About going forth in the world making disciples.

How you can possibly do that without first determining who needs to be evangelized and who doesn't contains a riddle of discernment then, doesn't it?

That's where it gets sticky. Ideas?

Work with? WTF is that supposed to mean?

At your occupation or as a Christian?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 816362

No, I am referring to the upcoming Davidic Kingdom of God, when Mystery Babylon falls and then the Davidic Kingdom rises up, and the final outpouring of God's Spirit and readying of His church to make his bride spotless before His 2nd coming. That's the work I'm talking about. In the early church, they took Holiness seriously, and so does/did God. They were selective in who they allowed to fellowship with them. Remember Ananias and Saphira who were struck dead for lying in Acts? That was after Jesus died on the cross, people. God means serious business, and so He will for this very big and ENORMOUS undertaking about to take place, the rising up of the David throne that Jesus Himself will take command of upon His return.
Genesis 3:15: "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." The Nephilim control the world now, but not for long!

I think our creativity is a gift, I think we are meant to bring that out. I think we are to spread the word, but not by necessarily knocking on doors. There are many ways to spread a message.

And I think it's kinda arrogant to sit in our small worlds and try to determine who needs to be evangelized. I've met many a Christian who has inspired me by their way, by their action and by their fruits, without ever evangelizing to me.

I am truly not trying to be purposefully thickheaded but I cant even grasp the concept of what a Christian/God thinks I should do or not do to avoid burning eternally.

Is it the turning from sin thats the key... or the belief in Jesus? It seems that you cant turn from sin entirely so how much would I have to turn from it. Not a sarcastic bone in my body when I make this post. I am genuine and sincere in my questions.
 Quoting: ac 816362

thank you! THIS is why I come to glp!! :-)

the thing God wants us to do to spend eternity with Him is accept the free gift of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for our sins -- and believe He rose from the dead -- we have eternal life with Him the MOMENT WE BELIEVE. we are sealed by the Holy Spirit as a GUARANTEE.

repentance is turning away. the best way I know how to do this is to turn TOWARD JESUS. pray. read the Bible. get involved in accountable fellowship. as we do this ministry opportunities pop up. I'm learning steadfast faith amidst life's ups and downs. if the Lord leads me to it, He can take me through it.

we are saved POSITIONALLY, not PERFORMANCE-WISE. all our sins are covered by the Blood Jesus shed on the cross. past present and future sins. He died for the sins of the world 2000 years ago when all our sins were in the future!! when we believe, positionally we are seated in the heavenlies with Christ, clothed in His righteousness -- yet we are simultaneously still here, aliens and sojourners on this planet -- ambassadors for Christ

the moment we believe Jesus died for our sins, we accept His free gift of eternal life. we are born again. we exchange our sins, which were nailed to the cross with Him, for His righteousness. we in no way deserve this -- it is the act of His sovereign grace and mercy -- unmerited favor

there is nothing we can do to earn, attain nor maintain salvation. the redemptive work of Jesus Christ was completed on the cross at Calvary. we need merely access what He has already done by BELIEVEING HE DID IT FOR US.

our sins are taken away, as far as the east is from the west.

this is what makes Christianity unique. it is not about our righteous works -- which are but filthy rags to God -- it is about Jesus' righteousness -- He was tempted in all ways as we are yet without sin, thus the unspotted Passover Lamb.

God is just. and righteous. and holy. sin can NOT be in His presence -- like north south magnets repelling. His nature precludes it. it has to be laid for. or avoided! God looked at the earth and saw there was none righteous, no not one. all have sinned and fall short of His glory. so He came in the flesh as a man and avoided sin His whole life, then His sacrifice on the cross was regarded as payment in full for all the sins of everyone.

what He's been doing ever since is standing at the door of our hearts and knocking. but the doorknob is on OUR side. He won't force His way in. we must merely open to Him, and He comes in. He calls us friends :-)

we all struggle with sin. it's the great question of the ages. if there's a dividing line vis a vis sin and salvation, where is it? no two people agree. the Bible tells us the sin unto death is UNBELIEF. it says eternal punishment is for UNBELIEVERS.

Jesus said, for God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son thst whosoever BELIEVES on Him shall not perish but have eternal life :-)

performance does count after we're saved, for rewards in heaven :-). but it is not an additional condition for salvation. we have full assurance of faith :-)

thanks for the questions! and may God richly bless you

love peace and joy

we all struggle with sin. it's the great question of the ages. if there's a dividing line vis a vis sin and salvation, where is it? no two people agree. the Bible tells us the sin unto death is UNBELIEF. it says eternal punishment is for UNBELIEVERS.

Thanks for your response.

I am not trying to be argumentative but dosent the Bible say you must be baptized to be saved?

Dosent one book (Romans) say that faith not works saves you yet James says faith is dead without works?

Didnt Jesus say to a rich man to be saved he had to sell everything?

I dont feel that the Bible is clear on how to be saved. It seems to be contridictory. Am I missing something?

Re: I'm a Christian pissed off at the other "christians" on GLP
Awesome post! 5 stars and I'm not even a Christian. I just find it odd that the 'Christians' on this site (at least the vocal ones) make it a habit to post threads that are basically attacks on other people's beliefs, although these posters do it under the guise of "truth" somehow.

Nice job!

Re: I'm a Christian pissed off at the other "christians" on GLP

Ideas?
 Quoting: My Take 673609

Must definately need to have a spirit of discernment. I would say that the Holy Spirit would let you know some how by asking them questions? I don't know I've never thought about that actually.

Re: I'm a Christian pissed off at the other "christians" on GLP
I'm a Christian, I try not to harp on people. I personally feel that MY relationship with God is what HE is most worried about. I need to spread the word, but sometimes that means not saying anything at all. If my actions say one thing, and my words another, what good is that? I try my hardest to live a life that would be pleasing to God. But I fail, so I try not to point out peoples flaws, because I have my own. I like to be exhorted to improve, and press on, not be embarrassed and belittled. I am especially considerate of non believers and my approach. I try to be upfront about my faith and where I stand, but I respect their opinion, as does God. Jesus never called anyone a "tard" or any other name, flaunted Himself, (which there is a lot of)....He spoke kindly ( except for the money changers) and said what He needed to say, but it was His actions that spoke the loudest. I don't use the word "tard" either, as I have a mentally challenged little girl, and I wonder if anyone actually knows how hurtful that is as a parent. I'm shocked how many "believers" use that word. But, God will deal with it if He feels it is needed, its not my job.
I can promise this, if I am finding all sorts of flaws in another, it means that I am full of them. And I better get myself straightened out first.

Re: I'm a Christian pissed off at the other "christians" on GLP
I am truly not trying to be purposefully thickheaded but I cant even grasp the concept of what a Christian/God thinks I should do or not do to avoid burning eternally.

Is it the turning from sin thats the key... or the belief in Jesus? It seems that you cant turn from sin entirely so how much would I have to turn from it. Not a sarcastic bone in my body when I make this post. I am genuine and sincere in my questions.

Seems to me that the bible states baptism as representing being buried with him and that we shall also rise up with him. and the faith thing Paul states without love what good is a spiritual gift, faith without works means that the work is love the action. because the bible says faith works by love.

You have to keep in mind that some people pretend to be Christians in order to make them look stupid.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 751508

:nikinto: Yeah and some people manage to do it all on their own.
