I am a strong Christian. I have seen the dark side. Yes, I do fear it. If you are a sensible person, you will fear it also. The dark side is nothing to play around with. Satan likes to trick people into thinking the last sentence you just put out here. A healthy fear of something is sometimes smart and sensible ; especially in these times. The demon hoards are getting stronger on this earth because God is allowing it. Have you been keeping yourself up with the world news lately?? If not, research what is going on in the Sudan today and ask yourself if this is not a piece of Hell come to earth. These are the end times and Tribulation is just around the corner in time.
The demon hoards are real. Satan is real. You can play with your dark side all you want but let me warn you, it will lead to death and destruction in the end.

It is fancy to say what you just said in the circles you frequent I bet. "...they're afraid of the dark..." and stuff like this. I know because I had a few friends in high school who went to the dark side. They use to say things to me like this. Also,they use to say to me... oh....Heaven is so boring....I asked them if they had ever been to Heaven? I also said to them, I would rather be bored in Heaven than running contantly from a demon trying to eat me day after day in Hell. They did not turn out well. ONe committed suicide, one died from a drug overdose...Their dark side.

I hope one day you will see the dark side is not fancy, nor is it popular.
