I will look that book up, but the fact that you used the word assimilate makes accepting kundalini energy seem equivalent to being taken into the Borg.

Anything that destroys the ego can be seen as frightening. Assimilation into the pure divine energy implies the dissolution of the "self". "You" cannot exist in the presence of God.

"Deny your self, pick up your cross and follow me"

"He who saves his life shall lose it but he who loses his life for my sake shall save it"

"The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness"

Choosing to deny oneself, choosing to place God's will first before our own is not the same thing as allowing yourself to be taken over and assimilated by some kind of spirit/energy.

I disagree. The spirit/energy is from God. It is nothing to fear although the ego becomes threatened and fear may arise when it happens.

Remember the tongues of flame over the heads of the disciples at pentacost?

Kundalini

Tongues of flame? I'll need more information on that.

The ego feels threatened? and so fear somes?
My ego, or the "I", thought it was cool (seeing the serpent). I wasn't scared, but felt great fear that I could not understand. It took me years to figure it out. I thought the fear I had felt was some kind of hallucination, but now I believe Kundalini is fear itself. "The only thing to fear is fear itself," but I never feared it and still don't. I just now know fear is coming from. Fear is alive and well and displays itself as jealousy, hate, anger, etc., and I believe this all comes from the serpent. I learned this after years and years of self-examination (of the energy of the serpent that I saw).

Because of what I've seen and experienced, I believe that Kundalini initiates fear, which we see in the form of jealousy, etc., and all the bad stuff. It also, for sure, initiates bad thoughts that oppose the truth, and sends them directly into our heads (with no invitation from us).
