If you can find a site out there that is legit, and make sure the lady is who she claims to be, and make her come to you (don't go and pick her up in her own country because it'd probably be a setup), then I think things could really turn out well for you dude.

It's amazing to me how happy they all seem. I've heard some horror stories about the online places, but I've thought of going this route for sure.

It's not cheap to have a foreign bride...gotta prove to the govt. you can support her while she's here. Lotta hoops involved.
Pud, I got a buddy met his wife at a folk-dancing class. No lie, why not find such classes and start attending? You might well meet a good-hearted gal there. At the least you'll be getting exercise which hopefully won't make you look ugly! |

I saw a documentary on tv about the Russian mail-order brides...seems the company involved was something like Volga Women or Girls. Not certain, but seems like that was the one in the documentary. (don't blame me if a websearch brings up something unsavory!)
It was on a reputable channel, and wasn't an infomercial. Aired a month or two ago. Even got into some of the laws states have passed requiring the man to have a background check done, to assure the safety of the women--this after one 19 yr. old Russian was killed by her American husband, in Oregon, if I recall.
The lady who headed the company said that about 50% of the marriages arranged last. |
