My question is how come they tell us AFTERwards instead of when they know it's coming around the corner. Is the Japanese guy Michiakaku or something like that. george noory worships him and from his youtube videos, he's got some pretty cool things to say..... we come from aliens etc, etc. Anyway, he's still a dick for not giving us warning before hand and only talking about it afterwards. |

Because it's fake and they want the sheeple to live in fear. |

Quoting: MojorizzinMy question is how come they tell us AFTERwards instead of when they know it's coming around the corner. Actually it was very small, about 3-4 meters in size, and posed no threat at all. We only saw it 15 hours prior to its pass, which is why most people didn't hear about it till afterward. Don't rely on the media to tell you, here are all the current impact risks: [link to neo.jpl.nasa.gov] |

If something is about to plow into us and cause mass death, there is no way they tell us. Important people will be moved to safety and the rest of us will die. If they told us, it would cause mass panic and millions and billions could still die. So why incite the panic you would have to try and control. If they ever announced such a thing, it'll be a definate false flag. You'll hear later that 50 trillion miles is really close for a big one and we will go about our business. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 648833Most thunderstorms don't come with a chance of rain that is, at best, 1 in 10,000. Those are the odds of impact for the rare asteroid that actually makes it onto the torino impact scale, most threats have impact odds closer to 1 in 1,000,000. What would be the point of having warnings on TV for every single unlikely impact? You'd then say they were faking it to keep people scared, which strangely is the same reasoning you're using right now. If their purpose was to fake it to scare people, don't you think it'd get MORE press, not less? Last Edited by Astromut on 11/17/2009 10:55 AM |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 800931In a prior false alarm when we thought there was a high probability of impact, it was a regular citizen amateur astronomer who ruled out the threat. [link to news.bbc.co.uk] [link to www.space.com] Just because you don't see the media reporting it does not mean that regular people are out of the loop. In fact, as the second article points out, amateurs do the bulk of the work in following up on initial detections. The reason? There's so many of us. They depend on us to help them track these threats, regular people would know if such a threat were really inbound. Last Edited by Astromut on 11/17/2009 11:12 AM |
