Quoting: Turtles KnowUnfortunately, I have no other choice - I forgot to put it on last night and it's got to be cooked. :( On top of the stove is not your best option, but I would recommend low and slow with a lot of liquid. Use some wine along with your water or broth, it helps tenderize the meat. |

Check it with a meat thermometer. Once it reaches 133 degrees, it will be medium rare. Quoting: jailarsonNo dutch oven, just a big pot with a roof. |

Just use a large pot and add plenty water and your roast. Cover with a lid and get it to boiling. Then turn your fire down to where it is a slow boil for five hours adding water every hour or so. You will have the most tender roast ever. Enjoy! |

A crock pot on high should be able to do everything in 2-4 hours depending on how much you cook/heat things. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 818619This sounds like the best plan considering the equipment you have available. |
