Can any computer geeks on board explain me this?
Quote

I monitor my memory usage with a little program that displays a tachometer gauge. Once windows boots up and I run my normal applications, the tachometer needle reads 3/4 memory usage. It stays at this rate during the period I use those applications I use. But here is the thing... after approximately 4-5 hrs being on the computer and using the application, the memory usage drops to 1/2 memory use. Bear in mind I did not end any application use. My question is why does the memory drop after 4-5 hrs., even though none of those applications were terminated?

Likely that some of the less used memory is getting cached to the HD and freeing up your RAM

Re: Can any computer geeks on board explain me this?Quote

what is programming it to do that?
btw... i did enable a feature where I can control my virtual memory usage. I have it set up at initial size: 1200 mgb, max size: 1400 mgb. The thing with that is i dont see any difference between it and the default setting (windows auto configures for you).
