There was a post here recently regarding hypnotism where they discovered that active day dreamers were not suceptible.
I've had hypnotists try on me but fail every time - I'm also an avid day dreamer.
It would also make sense that most of us here on GLP are (day dreamers) as that's where we come up with all our crazy theories and why we have such open minds. :)

Less say if you use the power of suggestion it works, most of the time. I tired to see for myself, what people would do in a
certain situation.
There was a guy peddling kitchen knives at a store, people were just walking by, not really listening to his sales pitch. What I did was start asking the guy if he had this knife, in the set he was selling. I went on how my sister had gotten mine and it was such a good knife, I would really like another.
It didn't take long and there was a crowd of people gathered and handing this guy money for those knives. I did buy any but the people sure surprised me, at their hurry to buy them, after
that few words I had with the guy!
People do some strange thing with just a small amount of manipulation. I shouldn't have done it, but I was just to dang
curious, to see if it would happen that way. It like a herd mentality in a way.
I won't do it again, and I really shouldn't have have done it then.

In order to be hypnotized, you need to want it to work and you need to pay attention to what the hypnotizer says.
I don't know about you guys, but I never listen to what that PA system says (at best I get annoyed due to the permanent "sonic pollution"), simply because I don't give a fuck about their "special offers". Most of those people were talking to each other and clearly didn't pay attention either, so I call this BS. IMO this has as much to do with hypnosis, as the stuff David Copperfield does has to do with magic. I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

It MIGHT work, in a person who is thoroughly relaxed and WANTS to be hypnotized, that is, is cooperative and trying to become hypnotized, as in trying to quit smoking, but these little shows where the hypnotist makes somebody off the street bark like a dog are bullshit.

remembering an old video where this guy has a subliminal
experiment- (he has a white trianlgle barey visible on the screen next to his head- he then says choose one of these shapes- a square, trangle, cirlce- )
at any rate i did a similar stunt in class- and all chose the triangle everytime.

Who knows what thoughts or directions for future actions the government is placing in the minds of some people. (on a side note ... was Lee Harvey Oswald part of a government mind manipulation plan? what about Jack Ruby ... interesting questions once you start learning about the "power of hypnotism")
