Uh, dude, you should take $50k of your money and buy gold/silver and take delivery or put it in a safe-only-you-know-where-it-is place.

You can take the other $200k and parlay that into several million given you are only 30 years old. Buy $100k of AIG or Goldman-Sachs.

Do it right and you will not have to work ever.

With few prospects for earning you can't invest the money dangerously. Investing in AIG or Goldman probably wouldn't make him rich anyway.

I would buy real estate now but pick a place with low property taxes...

I am 32. I was at Nursing college, end of my second year of my degree when my wife decided 'I want to have a baby'. I said to her we had to wait, but she assured me "I have done all the research, and it'll take at least a year of trying for us to succeed".

Guess what? the bitch did one frigging google page of research - one fucking page! so what happens? baby comes along (is a little treasure and i adore her) wife demands that she goes back to her career - raping my future in the process as I have to give up nursing.


So, what does she do not six months later?

"I am jealous of your time at home, I am giving up work and you have to find a job".

Career raped, future raped, pension raped... the whole nine yards of my life destroyed because of a selfish act from a thoughtless person.

Now, I am 32, and earning less than I did as a 17 year old school leaver.

Do i love my wife? no, I am bitter and resent what she has done to our childs future - instead of a happy secure life, she now has an uncertain future because I can only earn a pittance in low paid jobs.

Savings-wise, you're about where I was at your age. Now, I have $440K liquid, a nice house in S.F., and growing business (just opened a second office, and was recently offered $1.2 million for it), and am acquiring gold at a nice clip.

The only thing I don't have is a wife and family....which I desperately desire.

Besides, marriage is a contract between you and the state.You become it's property after the deal is done and whatever you2 produce out of that transaction also becomes property of the state.Doesn't matter where you live.You are property when you are born. Most women want to get married and have the dream ,but they do not realize the price you pay for that dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.

If the global economy looked better i would say invest in producing something for online sale world-wide, but at this point gold bullion looks safe.

Ok you have 60K but you probably have a decent job that you can depend on.. maybe even a nice 401k.

I tried to return to the US last year but ended up back in Asia because I was working a dead end job and had few friends since I lived overseas for so long.

Sometimes I think if I returned to a new state it would be an adventure but I'd like to do it with a good economy.
