Can you survive a super/mega tsunami ?
1. Breathing apparatus, oxygen tank etc.

2. Surfboard/life buoy/wheel.

3. Tie yourself to some solid place so tsunami force can't knock into you directly, find a place you won't get hit directly by the impact.

Any other ways to survive a megatsunami? I think breathing apparatus is at the least minimum.

That assumes you know about the tsunami with ample time.

The apparatus I mentioned are those you should always keep near you.

just the pressure would likely rip of any breathing gear you might have if not all the garbage carried with it would tear you to shreds.

i doubt you could even survive suddenly being submerged
under 500 feet of water.

maybee deep heavily reinforced underground shelter with backup air or head for the hills

a cubic meter is 100^3 cubic centimeters. 1 million CCs weigh 1 million grams, or 1000 kilograms.

That's a metric ton, which is 2,204.623 pounds

sorry. lets say its 999 feet high.... 999ft devided by 3 is 333 yards thats 734139.459 pounds you just went under not to mention the force behind it. it would crush every bone you have even tear right through you skin basicly leaving you with nothing

people seem to think they'd just float to the top. not true. the power and speed of it would run over you like a speeding juggernaut, and you would be the equivalent of a rotten orange under the wheels of said juggernaut.

nice way to go, really. crushed. instantly.

don't believe me?

this is what 300 feet of water over you does..

i would say buckleys and NO chance of surviving a big tsunami with grething gear

hell i doubt it would be possible to survive even a small one having been dumped onto sand by little waves no more than 8 feet the force behing a bigun is incomprehesable to me.

OP

considering your extreme stupidity on surviving a mega tsunami,

are you sure youre not american?

seriousy, a life buoy

a wheel, you must be joking...right?

as my turkish freind said above, a wall of water with the power to scour the earth clean, not just your humble japanese tsunami, a proper one = a mega one 500 metres high, 600 - 800 miles per hour would destroy everything in its path, nothing, and i mean nothing would remain standing, nota twig, a blade of grass, no buildings, and you won,t be able to surf it

peace

out

I got a idea....get your pilots license or helicopter rating...once you are informed of approaching tsunami, run to your local airport and fly an airplane above the tsunami.

I know that's what I am going to do if I have time, and I will be sure to carry my glock with me for anyone who gets in my way.

Re: Can you survive a super/mega tsunami ?
Really what happened in that mythbusters video is that the body was forced into the metal helmet because of the suit compressing and the helmet remaining an empty cavity...

Also of note, even a mega tsunami would have a surge in front of it as it hit land... The only problem is that even if you could navigate a surfboard through houses and powerlines and debris, you would probably never get over the crest...
The only thing I hate more than you, is myself.
