That said, we don't want to train our youth to be emotionless killers either, but that's not going to happen. Good luck launching some huge scale war with the US or Europe and expecting lots of people to fight.. our cultures have simply drained the fighting spirit out of us, which is a GOOD thing. Got a score to settle, use nukes or the threat of nukes to keep the peace. Nukes are the best thing that could possibly have happened to humanity.. they've prevented more wars and deaths then they've caused, by far. All the major players should have an ample supply of them. The day we get rid of our nukes is the day we have another world war. |

"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |

Only one of mine did, and that's only because my teacher went straight from the end of the Civil War to the beginning of World War II so that we would get that far. |
