Well this isn't a miracle ---- I dont know what it is -- and just posting it --- is asking to be laughed at.....

But I promise this is no bull ---

Last night, in the dead middle of the night --- my lamp on my nightstand turned ON all BY ITSELF and lit up the entire bedroom.

I was pretty scared for a few hours. Actually today, it is still kind of haunting me.

Can somebody please give me some logical reasoning why this would happen?
 Quoting: VoraciousHoney

gasp

It "lit up the entire bedroom" more than it normally would (as if turning itself on wasn't enough)?

Creepy!
 Quoting: ScrumpTheTexan

No I won't exaggerate that it was brighter then usual. IT WAS CREEPY. When it is pitch dark and the light suddenly comes on for NO REASON --- It does seem brighter!!!!!!! and BLINDING----

why would it have done that?????

 Quoting: VoraciousHoney

No idea Hunny... hopefully just a switch that was stuck in a half-on/half-off position & finally resolved to "on".

If that's not it, I know of someone you might need to call to ask about it... she's got experience in these matters.

I know no one will believe me

lmao

but that happend to me too, not too long ago even !

But there was a storm outside when that happened, when I told it to other people they all agreed that it was the electricity in the air produced by the storm
 Quoting: ScrumpTheTexan

that is a good theory! We didnt have any storms though. so back at square one. I am glad I am not the only one it happened to. It wasn't a good feeling either -- being suddenly awoken, and everything is bright and you can't see, and your heart is racing -- cuz you are like WTF is going on? Am I dreaming?

 Quoting: Doomwaffles

then again there does not have to be an actual storm in the air for there being electricity in the air , maybe you should start a thread on that !

When it happened, I'll admit, I was freaked. And upset one of my dogs when I jumped up from my seat in ALERT-mode.
I was awake when it happened, in my livingroom, on glp even LOL ! (so that didn't help ..)
They went off by themselves again, immediately.
I have flaws, I was just as surprised as you when I found out!

thanks you two!

I think the switch not being all the way off/on could be viable.....let's hope --- I am going to go with it anyway. :) I needed to be able to tell myself "something" so thanks!!!

Hi VH...sometimes an electrical switch doesn't get fully turned off and for some reason (vibration or ?) the juice suddenly starts flowing. I've had similar things happen in the past.

Or, something very unusual happened!

It's all good!!

Edit: most switches these days are super cheepo crap from
China...not too reliable...

I was young, age twelve or thirteen
We were at the dogpark me and my sister and my mother
She always gave us the keys to the car but we would never use them, we'd just "guard them"
We NEVER got into that car , why should we ? While there is so much else to explore.
that day we did, got into the car.
We got into an argument and she said or did something that completely threw me off balance , making me run out of the car , probably in a hurry to tell my mom about it.

what happend from that point on, I personally can't remember
I only know because my sister told me that a few months ago while we were both enjoying a bottle of wine in her kitchen
I don't even remember why that topic came up. But at that point she was close to tears, and looking pale. My sister is one that boasts a lot about ...a lot of things ! That's how I know and could just feel she was being honest, ...because she cried !
My sister is one tough nugget ! I've only seen her crime twice in her adult life ! And we are very close !

She told me , remember when :
you had that accident, I remember how you flew through the air with blood on your face, your face looked so bad. I knew you where dead. Your face .... it looked all grey, your eyes where open, you hit the curb with your head , on the same side the car hit you
I felt so sorry about what I did ..because I knew it was my fault

Her words ...

All I can remember for myself is : i just woke up !
In a featal position while seeing some old mans shoes in front of me , brown, leather, had laces
it had laces !
I reached my hand out to touch them and it felt ..awesome ...
I could feel matter and it was the best thing I ever did.
I knew my mum (who's a head nurse) was fussing over me, telling me to keep still, keep quiet, don't move
but I remember her ! (wich is what I was thinking the whole time)
I could not actually see her face, all the faces are blurry, the old man who's shoelaces I was playing with, he felt happy,, my mom felt like my mom . I remember that I wanted to touch her face so I could remember her better but she kept telling me to be still.
I even remember my sister in that moment, she was crying, standing away from the group that was fussing over me, she felt so alone in that moment.

I can remember what I was thinking when I woke up.
..." I want to laugh "

And that is my near dead experience.
I tried to remember the blackout moment but all that is coming to me is just endless blackness
Feeling like a candleflame that is about to be blown out, and being completely ok with that

So I stopped asking

Its ok ...

I guess

besides , want to know the clue to that whole story
I had no wounds,
just a bruise on the right side of my head
I got off with scratches and a concussion

was in the hospital for only two weeks , under observation
because I got better every day
I looked up my brainscan results again after my sister told me
... wich threw me off balance when I read them
" severe internal injury "
" long time physical revalidation possible"

I was in the hospital for two weeks ...?!

Re: Have you ever witnessed a Miracle? I have, more than once. Post it here, if so. I'll start...
Years ago, myself, 2 friends, & our girlfriends went to Gladewater on Pentecost to check out a bud who was starting a Ministry at his place.

Not a group of religious stuff-shirts, were we...
& neither was the guy starting the Ministry (Bro. Ben).

I was in a Metal band, w/ almost waist-length hair, & everyone else was similar.

When we arrived, the girls stayed up by the main bldg to have a look around while us guys went down to the lake (lakeside property,) to fire up the grill.

We hadn't been there for 10 minutes, when a scream came from up the hill where the girls were.

Amy, my bud Joe's soon-to-be wife was the one who had screamed, & when we ran up the hill, we found her holding Christopher, their son, & frantically brushing dozens & dozens of fire-ants off of him.

Christopher was 2 at the time, and deathly allergic to ants & bees. One bite would cause huge swelling & a feverish/allergic-type reaction on a normal day... & he'd stepped right out of the car & into the middle of a fire-ant hill, & had dozens of bites all over him.

By the time we reached them (45 seconds?) Christopher had stopped crying.

He began to have trouble breathing.

Large amounts of fluid started coming from his mouth & nose every time he'd exhale, his breathing sped up terribly, he turned white as a sheet (except the bites, which were already nickel/dime size & red), started sweating & began to visibly stiffen.

I'm telling you, I saw his eyes start to glaze over.

What was happening is that he was going into Anaphylactic Shock.

This baby was dying right before our eyes & there was nothing WE could do, since we were at least 20 miles from the nearest Hospital & the changes I describe happened to him in just a couple of minutes.

It was the WORST thing that could've happened... and calling 911 wasn't even an option.

We ran him inside, stripped him to his underwear (frantic ant search), laid him on the floor & without thinking about it, the four of us (Joe, Ben, Russell, & me) laid our hands on him & began to pray.

Rick stayed outside with the girls, who were all trying to calm Amy.

He was stiff as a board, cold, breathing VERY shallowly & quickly, & staring blankly at the ceiling... at nothing.

Within 30 or so seconds (who knows? It was intense) We watched a LINE, literally a LINE, appear at his feet & begin to move slowly up his body towards his head.

Before the line was dying child, covered in huge red welts...

Behind the line was coloring skin, & disappearing welts...

When the line reached the top of his head, he suddenly jumped up, ran over to the bookshelf, & began pulling books off the shelf... just like a normal 2 yr old.

A fire-ant bite usually showed on this kid for DAYS... red swollen, & irritated... sometimes a single bite would sicken him.

But within 30/45 minutes, the welts had reduced to small pimple-like marks, & were gone almost completely by the following morning.

Instantly & completely healed.

No adverse effects.

I promise this is true.

Needless to say, we left immediately, despite what we'd seen happen, because his parents wanted to get him to a doctor.

We stopped to get gas on the way back & Joe said to me:

"Man, when we were Praying, did you hear Bro. Ben speaking in tongues?"

"It wasn't like when you hear guys on TV do it... fake sounding, it was like music... like a language."

I told him that Ben had done no such thing (none of us did or do), and I knew this, since Ben & I were shoulder-to-shoulder throughout the entire event.

He said "Yes he was!" "It was the loudest thing in the room!"

To convince him, I called Russell, who confirmed what I told him.

I looked at him & (goosebumps here) said "You are the only person I've ever known who heard the VOICE of the Holy Spirit pleading before the Throne for the life of your child.

He could hear it, because he was Christopher's dad, & was frantic for the life of his son.

The doctor gave Christopher some Benadryl, since he couldn't find anything really wrong.

That's one.

I have also witnessed miracles
My daughter who was 17 was having emotional problems very severely-she ended up going into treatment for a nervous breakdown

The doctors called me and told me it was not emotional but she had a thyroid condition which affected her weight and clubby look to her hands and neck. She was subsequently put on syntrax to regulate her thyroid.

I began praying and praying for her - I don't know exactly when it changed but I felt that after a year she should go off the meds-which she did because we became unisured and could no longer afford it.

I continued in prayer for several years and last year at age 20 she went to the doctor and her blood work IS completely normal - she is now 45 lbs thinner and has no emotional problems

Prayer works - and God answers prayers
I know this for a fact and have witnessed her complete and total healing

Re: Have you ever witnessed a Miracle? I have, more than once. Post it here, if so. I'll start...
On oct. 28th, I took 12 xanax bars and got myself into a situation, i got shot square in the chest with an AK47, the bullet entered where the neck meets my chest, so lower neck i would say, it traveled through my clavicle which shattered, tore my subclavian artery and went through the Brachial Plexus nerves which control my motor movement and feelins for my right arm, it came out my humerous which basically blew it to pieces..., my ball and socket joint is screwed up, and my lung collapsed, i was done for.. after being shot i was beat for a good minute, i was bleeding heavily due to the artery torn which runs to my heart and my shooter did nothing in attempt to save my life, he wanted me dead. Even though I was in the wrong at the time, nobody deserves to die. My body was numb, my chest was hot, and I could feel the blood coming out my mouth, my vision was blacking out, i couldnt feel my arm.. i thought it was hanging loosely in my sleeve, disconnected from my body; but in reality there was just a big fucking whole comming in my chest and out my arm.. I remember yelling for EMS till I couldn't anymore, i don't know if i really was due to my lung, or i was just delusional; i could feel the drugs still in my system, my Blood pressure mustve been seriously fucked up, i noticed i was losing it.. i was sitting, legs out, my back against a wall, i laid my head down on the wood floor, and prepared to die.. i remember still comming in and out of consiousness; the cops, the paramedics.. i was careflighted to Harris Methodist Hospital; i don't remember at all. I remember saying one thing over and over; to whom I don't know. "I'm only 16 I don't wanna die, I'm only 16 , I don't wanna die" I dont remember getting an answer back.. I don't remember seeing any white light;.. no jesus, no god, no clouds, no nothing; just darkness... I woku up from a coma 3 days later; i was so thirsty.. i had a tube going down my throat, i was on life support, IV in my jugular vein, and i couldnt move my right arm at all. I was told by so many doctors It was a miracle that I was alive, doctors and nurses all over the hospital came by to see me,to tell me the same. They almost lost me a couple times; The night that I came in I was lucky.. The trauma, Orthopedic Surgeon, and Neurologist were all in the same place at the same time, which dosent ever happen. I was given 64 UNITS of blood.. I cant believe i'm here writing this with one arm today, I hardly have any feeling or movement in my right arm but I have some.. It's truely a miracle i'm alive, I have 50/50 chance of recovery, i hope that i make it, i spent 27 days in the hospital and 9 in ICU, i've decided to turn my life around and do something different. I have these nasty scars to remind me, which if yall want to see ill upload a picture, that theres more than one way to live life..

Everything that happens to us is a lesson. You were saved in order for you to do the work of God. You need to talk to other young people who get caught up in the game. Show them the correct path. Scrump was so right about you learning this at such a young age. Youth is on your side. Take full advantage of it and pray for what God wants you to be next. You will be the light in many people who are off track.

Peace

I haven't witnessed one yet but could sure use some prayers for my little boy. He's had stomach problems for 3 months now. In the hospital right now again. Looks like they found something a possible mass in the ultrasound. I know nobody here knows me but if you can spare a minute and send out a prayer for my little man Richard, it would mean more to me than you can imagine. Should know more tomorrow. thanks

UPDATE:
Well, we're in the ICU. After a very stressful few days there seems to be a bit of relief. Yesterday we took our little man up for a biopsy to see what we were dealing with. About an hour into the operation (and a great deal of crying & praying) the doctor call and said she thought she would be able to get most of the tumor out. A great relief for us for no other reason than it looks like it'll be the only operation he'll have to have. We will not know what the biopsy will show and have a few days before they will know anything. Keep praying for non cancer!

Now for my moment of peace I encountered.
45 minutes into his operation I stepped outside to clear my mind and pray. I was standing in front of the hospital under the pedestrian bridge in the shadows. It was a cold, cloudy day with some snow starting. I began to talk to God and ask for him to help my little boy. What came to mind was a movie he's been having us watch over and over and over...The Polar Express. There's a scene at the end of the movie where the little boy who can't here santa's bell says over and over "I believe, I believe" so that's what I said over and over as honest as I have ever said it. Then as if I my words were finally heard the sun shined on my face and illuminated my closed eyes. The feeling I had was stunning and when I opened my eyes fear had left and I felt like it was all going to be ok. I went back in and 10 minutes later the doctor called.
All that being said I know we may not be out of the woods yet but something deep down tells me it's all right.

Thank you all for your prayers and please continue to pray for my little man. I will keep you posted as I know more.

Well said & dead-on Waffles.

God isn't about religion (man-made rites)... He's about relationships.

Christ Himself railed against religious "leaders"...

Matt 23:27-29 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness."

Calling them serpents & a brood of vipers was a perfect descriptor.

feeling alone can be a very arbitrary sentiment
some people feel alone because they have no family but they do have neighbours and friends
some people feel alone because they don't have neighbours r friends but they do have family

one of my part time jobs is to talk to lonely people , especially elderly people t hat have no one else, no caring neighbours, no caring family...
others are families with new borns who feel the stress of adjusting to new life is more than they can bare

trust me Scrumpy, that breaks my heart each and every time
I even know one muslim family whos mom AND dad are grateful for my care just for doing things such as putting the garbage out, and they don't care one bit that I'm an "infidel" , I feel they appreciate my presence and in turn I try to make them feel good about themselves
I have one old lady who never comes out, who I basically just talk to over tea, making sure she takes her medication while I play cards or monopoly with her , or take her out to go grocery shopping
I have another family with a child who's autistic but seems to liven up whenever I bring one of my dogs along ( the amstaf) and the parents are blaming themselves for not being able to afford a pet... even before they knew me.

That all is very emotionally taxing at times
but its oh so worth it !
I have flaws, I was just as surprised as you when I found out!

The interpersonal part I agree with absolutely... although I don't have a clue why He chooses to reveal Himself in such a drastic way (like the Christopher incident) to some & not to others, although I do agree that if you absolutely do not want His help, you're probably not going to get it.
 Quoting: ScrumpTheTexan

that would relate to feeling empathy ...imo
feeling christ is to feel empathy
wich is not the same as sympathy ...
 Quoting: Doomwaffles

That's definitely part of it... but it's so much more than just having the ability to be empathetic. It's also the knowledge that you're *never* alone... and that life isn't just chaos-then-death-then-dirt.

And so much more.
 Quoting: ScrumpTheTexan

feeling alone can be a very arbitrary sentiment
some people feel alone because they have no family but they do have neighbours and friends
some people feel alone because they don't have neighbours r friends but they do have family

one of my part time jobs is to talk to lonely people , especially elderly people t hat have no one else, no caring neighbours, no caring family...
others are families with new borns who feel the stress of adjusting to new life is more than they can bare

trust me Scrumpy, that breaks my heart each and every time
I even know one muslim family whos mom AND dad are grateful for my care just for doing things such as putting the garbage out, and they don't care one bit that I'm an "infidel" , I feel they appreciate my presence and in turn I try to make them feel good about themselves

^That^ is fantastic job, Waffles... an excellent example of selfless compassion indeed.

Reading about how the prayers saved the 2 year old made me cry that is wonderful

Actually being there was a paradigm-shifting event... I knew that God could do things of that nature & much more, but experiencing it first-hand really brought into focus the fact that He's right here, right now, & still does.

I had no lack of Faith... that's not it at all, but once Faith manifests to the tactile it'll change you forever.

I suffered severe lack of faith over the years

Well said & dead-on Waffles.

God isn't about religion (man-made rites)... He's about relationships.

Christ Himself railed against religious "leaders"...

Matt 23:27-29 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness."

Calling them serpents & a brood of vipers was a perfect descriptor.

Not sure if you would call this a miracle or not...

After my wife having a psychotic breakdown and having to quit her job I went into kidney failure (diabetic since I was 7 and lost most my eyesight due to retinopathy). We had bought our 2nd house just 4 years b4 and planned to stay the rest of our lives in our dream home but now we were becoming concerned about being sble to keep house with the medical bills we were about to face. Go forward about 2 years and we are at the hospital having my monthly bloodwork drawn, waiting 4 my turn and a man comes in pushing a wheelchair with a woman in it and he sits across from us and faces her away beside his chair. He smiles at us and leans to the woman and softly says something to her. He then looks up at us and says "Hello". We respond in kind and he goes on with small talk about how about how busy the lab is and what the weather is like. Then he leans in toward me and says "Let's see...You have a brother" , "yes a brother, right"? yes I do I say and then he says "you 2 are going to be just fine, dont worry. It will all be fine" with a large smile. I was a little amazed at him as we were saying nothing while were there but in the past 2 weeks had been discussing our concern about losing everything we had. Both of us were ver y scared of the uncertain future. Fastforward 9 years and we are still here in our dream house and the future looks really bright for us. To this day I still dont know how we made it with both of us being in a different mindset then what we had ever been b4 and not having the money. Somehow we always made it from week to week. What amazed me more then anything else was that the man was wearing a cordaroy brown suit that looked like it was made in the 50's with a natching hat and when he and the woman went into the back rooms of the lab they never came back out. And I went down the hall past the 6 lab rooms and they were not in any of them. They were JUST GONE!

He had such a big smile as he got up to go in the back and tilted his hat at us and we both looked at each other with questioning glances and I said that was wierd. How did he know I had a brother?

I still want to believe he and the woman were angels sent there to assure us that we were going to make it.

I still go to the same lab every month for blood draws and have never seen them again.

I feel as though I am being led down a path right now that is just amazing and I am going to be a big part of what is coming to the World! I constantly smile with assurance when I see what is going on the World today. I feel excited about what is happening to me even though I dont know where I am heading.

Nice!

That's kind of a different twist on the 'disappearing hero' theme!

I had one not dissimilar to that about 20 yrs ago, except this was definitely a human delivering the message.

My Brother was Pastoring a Church a few counties away, & I was visiting there for the first time.

That day, he had a guest Pastor speaking that I'd never seen before & had never been there before, & unknown to anyone, I'd just been laid off my job.

Halfway through the service this Pastor says he has a 'word of knowledge' for someone... he then walks over to me, bends down, & whispers "The Lord tells me that you've lost your job and are very worried about it... don't worry, He's got it under control."

If this man had whispered this to me on any other day, it would've been a farce... just like walking up to any random person & saying such a thing... he had no way to know this, so needless to say I was a little shocked.

Two days later I had a new & better job.
