Just received this letter from AARP. Their words first, (mine in parenthesis).

" From the begining, we've told Congress and the President: AARP is fighting to protect your guaranteed Medicare benifits." ( Haven't seen ANY fighting yet, have you?)

" After carefully monitoring the legislative process
...(Just HOW is that 'fighting' to protect us ?) and evaluating various proposals, ( NOT the final bill ) AARP's all-volunteer Board of Directors ( Who OWN a peice of the 'action' ?) .... - decided to endorse the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R.3962) because we believe it will protect your Medicare and improve critical benifits. The bill would:

Protect guaranteed Medicare benifits.( Guaranteed benifits ? Which ones ? Guaranteed by WHOM ? This does NOT guarantee that you ever get to SEE the doctor to GET the Medicare benifits, DOES IT ? )

Preserve doctor-patient relationship and ensure treatment decisions are made by you and your doctor. ( Which a government board can OVERRULE, especially in cases THEY determine are prolonging the life of the terminally ill, useless eater ! )

Stop seniors from having to pay thousands in out-of-pocket costs for their prescription drugs by closing the Medicare Part D coverage gap, or "donut hole". ( If your NOT paying for Medicare Part D, this is worthless.)

Require Medicare and insurance companies to provide important preventive services, like screening for diabetes,
cancer and osteoporosis, free of charge. ( IF and WHEN you can GET to SEE the doctor; IF, when you KNOW about it, something WILL be done BEFORE you DIE.)

Improve the coordination of care for people with cronic health conditions, like diabetes and high blood pressure. ( Will all 'coordination of care' be done by ACORN
reps ? Will they speak English ? OR, will they 'coorinate' only delaying tactics, till you give up or die from a high blood pressure heart attack ?)
Make Medicare more financially sound, so it is there for future generations. ( The ONLY ONE made financially 'sound' is AARP, who will have SO MANY FEWER payments to make, because there is such a backup at the doctors, outright refusal of care, that AARP pays 50% LESS of what they cover, as you DON'T have the operation, etc., BUT the monthly fees THEY WILL charge ME will NOT GO DOWN !)
