Distance running for me breaks down the ego. I've always felt it brought me closer to God, but then I realized its because it shatters the ego. When you run 30 miles, you have hours and hours to think about things, and sometimes not think about anything at all. But your completely with yourself, and your suffering. Sometimes you suffer a little, sometimes a lot, but its always at least a little uncomfortable, and I think that's important. After a 6 hour run, I feel like I see people differently, even strangers. I see the good in everyone. I've tried meditation and its just not the same. Maybe I'm not doing it right or I'm not patient enough, but its not the same. Running long distances changes my perception of the world and of people, and the more I run the less "things" I want. Reading this thread made me realize its just stripping away the untrue things I thought I knew.

I fear that some day I won't be able to run, but for now I run.

Words and images that don't resonate are instantly forgotten, not through my minds choice but through this souls choice. I used to think this was a curse but now realise this is a blessing.

Conscious and and subconscious work in unison to filter my understandings. My life is one of love and clarity. All mental baggage is removed so thought and energy can flow free. One of the most joyous and beautiful things is being a sideline spectator to synchronicity playing out intent. Energy flows where intent goes.
