"Requiring undocumented workers to register, get legal, pay taxes, and learn English will level the playing field for all workers and all employers. Developing new legal channels to funnel future economic migrants and better enforcement mechanisms to keep employers honest and target criminals will restore the rule of law." I think you are NUTZ. |

One of the reasons for imigration reform is because the Dem's believe most of the affected immigrants will delcare themselves Democrat. And this will be used along with the census to redraw congressional districts. (So they think) However will this come back to bite them in the end, with a personal story here, I was listening to the Ed Shultz show (when he was on the radio here in Houston) and a hispanic man called in an informed Ed that most hispanics are conservative and do not like liberals. Ed was not happy to here this. It was a very short call. Further, even if immigrants are given a "fast track" to citizenship via amnesty, there will be little or no change when it comes to how most of the hispanic immigrants are employed & paid ... under the table ... cash ... no taxes being paid. They are still being exploited and driving down wages (but that is a whole uniqe topic). So what changes? Nothing other than a few elected officials create new rules/laws when in all likliehood the current ones on the books would work ... if they where enforced. |
