Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
I don't count ghosts as being anything weird so I would have to say a strange creature my husband and I saw.

He had been in law enforcement his whole life and just didn't believe in paranormal things and used to make fun of the paranormal experiences that I had over the years.

We lived about five miles up a mountain with a narrow and windy road with no shoulder in places. One night we were going into town and when we came out of a long curve this creature came up the embankment on the passenger side, saw us, and leaned back to avoid being hit.

It was about 6 to 7 feet tall, tan colored fur, had hooves on the two hind feet it was standing on, a body structure of a horse (but standing on two feet straight up like a man), had the head of a wolf or dog. The weirdest thing though was that it had strange arms that it was flailing around that looked more like thick tentacles and appeared to have more than two of them. How many I couldn't tell since it was whipping them around back and forth.

When we first came out of the curve my husband started braking when we were still a ways from it so we got a fairly good look. When we passed it I could see how huge it was since I was on the passenger side. I was only about 6 inches from the thing because of the narrow road. Luckily, it was winter and I had the window up.

My husband turned around at the first road and we went back. The thing was gone. My husband was really shook up. I told him we should report it but he didn't want to and said that they would never believe him. He passed away about five years later but would bring it up to me often. It stayed on his mind and really bothered him. He never really got over it.

I told him not to worry because it was just something coming from another dimension. That seemed to bother him more.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
Weird as in something a witch would drag around by the hair..

I once felt a woman, very hot also, on top of me just as I was waking up. Sleeping alone in a house with no such woman around, or known to me. Have felt that more than once too, summer 2008 was the most memorable one.

But seen? I'm a synch type of person, I've had the most incredible things, tarot, which I read, has surprised me a few times as well. I once went to a town I'd never visited, far away, and a girl I didn't know added me to her chat list, and she was from THAT SAME TOWN! That hooked me on some things.

It was around 1995 or maybe 1996. Whoa. Funny you asked about missing time because there was possibly. We were picking up my daughter at her part-time job and she got off at 9:30 p.m.

We had left house a little after 9 pm. We were really late picking her up. I think by an hour. We thought that I had just misread the clock before we left home. My husband thought that when I looked at time at home that it was really 10 instead of 9 when I said we had to go pick our daughter up. But I'm a worrywart and can't understand how I could do that. I'd notice it was 8 or 8:30 on the nights we would pick her up and I'd start getting ready and would watch the clock.

Luckily her work ( a pizza parlor) stayed open late so she could wait inside.

This missing time thing relates to aliens? At least I've read that. Is that why you are asking? In that same house we lived in then, about ten years later, I had a strange experience maybe alien related. One night I woke up and thought it was daylight. It was midnight. I looked outside and it was almost like daylight - no moon. I felt very odd and subdued and just went back to bed with the covers over my head. The next day a neighbor about 2 miles down the mountain said that she was coming home at midnight from her night job as a security guard and swore that a huge alien ship was over the whole mountain and was lighting up outside as if it was daylight.

Have you ever heard of a creature or alien that looks like that?

I've searched the net for years now looking for a sighting by others but haven't even come close.

I'm glad I asked you that question, too, and glad you saw post and responded. Never have heard of an "alien" described like what you saw. I tend to think it was as you say, from another dimension. In the literature, missing time is often experienced when encountering seemingly extra-dimensional entities...read John Keel, Jacque Vallee regarding that.

The "Jersey Devil" has been described quite similiarly to what you saw, only winged and non-tentacled.

Very very interesting sighting, AC...can you give a general idea of the region without compromising your privacy?

We lived in Northern California in Sierra Nevada Mountains closer to Nevada border than Sacramento or S.f.

Thank-you for the information. I will read up on what you suggest. I'm also curious to go find a drawing of "Jersey Devil" to see if similar. I've heard of them but haven't seen a picture.

Like my husband I guess I never really got over it either. I think I just accepted it better than he did.

Thanks, again.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
The summer after high school, I had a job driving trucks at night, back and forth between Clearwater and Ft. Myers, Florida. The road between Sarasota and Ft. Myers back then was pretty much completely desolate country, just endless marshland interspersed with open cattle pastures.

So, I am just cruising down the highway, 67 mph, because the truck had a governor on it and that's as fast as it would go.
It's about 2 am and the road is mostly empty, save the occasional truck going the opposite direction, and 1 set of tail lights I can see at least a mile ahead of me.

I glance at the passenger side mirror, and something else catches my eye outside the window. The window is down, so it's not a reflection. It's a pair of cat like eyes looking at me. What the hell? I'm doing 67 mph, nearly 8 feet above the ground in that truck cab, and a dark humanoid shape with eyes that reflect like a cat's is running along side my truck and just staring at me through the open window.

Eyes back to the road, I push harder on the gas pedal, but the truck won't go any faster. I look over again, and it's still right beside me, and turns it's head to look at me as I look at it. This went on for about a mile. I wasn't afraid, didn't feel threatened, just kinda stunned and trying to process what I was seeing. It finally seemed to just turn away and run off into the darkness away from the highway.

I drove that same route 5 nights a week the rest of the summer and never saw it again.

When I read your initial posting, I wondered about the missing time aspect, especially as you wrote how you rode by like 6 inches from this Thing (and you wrote like it'd been no big deal). I wondered if the remembrance of riding by it so relatively casually hadn't been a "cover-memory" hiding the fact of missing time.

People generally freak when they encounter something so odd. Do you recall freaking, or is your memory exactly as you related in your post? I've had some experiences, my memory of which made sense to me until my cousin brought up in conversation on the matter how very illogical and unlikely my responses had been given the purported situation.

If you've got time and interest, you might find a parallel in response to what you encountered in the case of Betty and Barney Hill..."Incident at Exeter" and "The Interuppted Journey"...they had missing time while on a trip, and the story of how they'd blanked it out yet it kept bothering Barney is quite fascinating and might resonate with you regarding your experience.

Truly, thanks for sharing!

That is creepy, ET! That makes it more personal when the thing is chasing you and looking at you! I would have totally freaked if the creature I saw had started chasing us. And I'm usually brave when it comes to weird things.

In searching the net for something like I saw I remember someone else saying that they were chased, with the thing right along side the car, but don't remember where it took place or what the thing looked like. I do remember it had red eyes also.

Hmmmm. The things that go bump in the night.

No, I didn't freak at all. My husband probably did more than I. And that is strange because I never saw him afraid of anything until that night. He had been a cop for his whole adult life and seemed fearless - as a young cop he worked in East L.A. It really bothered me that it scared him.

Actually, I'm usually non-pulsed in such situations. If I do fall apart it is usually much later. I have had many experiences with spirits (ghosts) and also some very close encounters with wild animals (some dangerous) and I'm always calm. It's almost like I detach myself from the situation and become just an observer.

I didn't really feel threatened by the creature other than the fact that we almost hit it. The expression on its face was of surprise and it didn't appear to be aggressive. But if it had followed our car, like what happened to ET it might have been another thing. I think that would have scared me.

Well, thanks for the additional info. Maybe I will be able to determine what it was and why it had the strange effect on us for so many years.

A man dressed in pseudo police uniform disappeared in front of my eyes earlier this year. It was during spring as it was getting warm enough to go out for walks. In a little village in the countryside of Canada. There was no one else about, no place he could have ducked. During the period of time it takes to blink a couple times he was walking in front of me and my daughter and he faded out. He was walking at 90 degrees to us, because we were approaching a T junction. I had never heard of or seen such a thing before. That is how I found this site, by searching for other peoples strange experiences and to see if anyone else had ever seen a man disappear.

there's a book called earthlight something i think,
wrote by some guy back east that talked about his time on the yakima indian rez, and how the smoke watchers would see big balls of light "rolling" down the side of hills.

it's a good read if you can find it,
the guy who wrote it trys to say it maybe earth quake or fault line energey release type thing,

Weirdest thing I've ever seen are the Marfa lights in marfa texas.. Strange lights that float, disappear, merge with each other when it gets dark.. They're viewable year round in the same place.. Take a camping trip out there and see.. They are pretty cool.. No one knows what the hell they are..

I am the cousin, I drive truck all night local route, through the high mountain passes in western colorado, see lots of strange lights, and even have seen drilling companies burning off gas with portable 80 foot tall torches at night, thats a strange thing to see at night. Saw a propane tank vent as it exploded at night, fought the fire with the local fire dept. to, nothing like seeing the candle in the sky of a burning fuel tank. But I have seen black stick men on the same stretch of road multiple times, I drive snow plows, so I am goin rather slow, less than 30 mph and have seen them at a certain crossing point. Much like deer or other wild game use the same spots to cross a road. SO the yellow and blue strobes of the plow truck are going, and I have multiple head lights going too, and the first time I saw it cross in front of the truck, the other time I saw it wait until I went by, and the first one was well over 9 feet tall, looked like a burned black dead tree but moving with the roots as the feet. Had a stride much larger than a mans, red glowing eyes. Still drive the same route every night, figure I will see it again. The second one was not as tall, both were tree and stick like, dark, long strides, fluid but stiff not like jointed peoples strides. Have seen strange things all my life, ghosts when I was a kid and alien encounters too. So was not afraid, just another of the night critters out by the highway I guess. Has anyone else seen tree people?

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
I was roughly 9 and was playing in the backyard with my older brother and two younger sisters. We had a stack of wood off to the side of the yard, and my brother and sister were moving planks around.

They found a worm which literally looked like a cartoon bookworm come to life. It was small, maybe two inches in length, but the head was abnormally large. It was blue/green in colour and had a tail that was ribbed. The strangest thing of all was its face. Its eyes were blue but they literally looked like they were painted on -- like a Barbie doll's eyes. The mouth looked to be similar to a painted on smile, like this --> ). Had the "bookworm" not been moving, we would have sworn it was a plastic toy, even though the texture was not hard (though it wasn't squishy, either).

It looked similar to this:

(Note that it didn't have arms or glasses lol, nor was it that long. The head was also quite a bit larger in proportion to its body, and it's body or tail was ribbed. The colour was blue/green, and it had no hair.)

My brother and sister passed it back and forth between their hands carefully; we thought it was the cutest thing we had seen (but also the STRANGEST, by far) and we intended to keep it as a pet. We had no clue what it ate or what it needed to survive, but that didn't really matter much, since it died in my brother's hands with a minute or two.

It lost it's blue/green tinge and turned grey after it died, so we buried it under our cherry tree. We felt so bad for the little guy; we didn't know if we had harmed him or what, but still...

We talk about our little bookworm every now and then, and I've done some snooping around to see if I could find an explanation as to what exactly it was...but we still have no answers.

Too bad, too. That little guy was adorable. Strange, but so cute. I wonder now if he was not "of this earth", or is maybe a part of the "hidden" reality of earth (of other races, creatures, etc.). So fascinating.
