During a violent thunderstorm saw ball lightning come in to the living room thru the window. My Grandpa had just gotten up from the chair in front of that window only moments earlier to turn off the television, don't know what would have happened if he'd been sitting there when the lightning came in.

What is ball lightening? Maybe this is what I saw. I was standing at my kitchen sink and suddenly an orange ball of light sort of exploded over my head and then it was gone. I know it sounds weird but it happened. There wasn't a storm going on at the time though. I think it may have come through the window but I'm not sure because it happened so fast. I just know it was suddenly over my head. Maybe heat lightening? We do get a lot of lightening in the back of our house because there is sort of a valley there.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
When I was 10, I was driving with our sitter and my sister and brother to go get ice cream. Our sitter lived with us. She was in her mid twenties and was about 7 months pregnant. My sister & brother are younger than me, and were sitting in the back seat. I was in the passenger seat.

We lived in Huntington Beach, CA at the time, and I remember that we were driving on a very major street (not sure which one). Anyway, other drivers had stopped all over the road...some pulled over, some just stopped where they were. When we stopped, I looked up to see what was going on. In front of us, maybe 1/2 mile away was a HUGE UFO. It was very low...maybe 20 feet off the ground. It was moving very slowly right towards us. I remember sitting there staring at it with my mouth open and I watched it until it had completely glided over the top of our car and I couldn't see it anymore (would have been behind us at that point).

Odd thing is that I don't remember anything about what happened after. I never said anything about it to anyone until a few years ago. I asked my brother if he happened to remember it. He looked at me stunned (he's a former Marine D.I. by the way, so he doesn't mess around) and surprised and said that yes, he remembers it very well.

The other weird part though is that I have tried many times to find anyone else online who may remember the incident (there were TONS of people stopped, it is SoCal so dense population) and I can't find anything about it! I would think someone else would remember this or that it would have been in a newspaper or something.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
I'm into yoga big time and once was in the Cathederal in Manchester England where they were holding a display about world religions.

It was held in this really dark chapel with no outside light source and I got to wondering if Yoga was the right path for me. I had no sooner 'voiced' the thought, when a beam of light illuminated a statue of Shiva Nataraja. This light had no obvious source and the statue stayed in its beam the whole time I was in the chapel.

I've experienced and been part of some other weird shit in my life, but this is the one event that stays up there for me.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
On the summer solstice about 13 years ago, on a beach cove on the southern coast of Maine, I saw a cloud sitting out over the ocean. It was just sitting there by itself and didn't move the whole time I was there, but there were lights of different colors dimming in and out inside of it. Red, green, and yellow, and different colors in the same places in no pattern that I could detect, but regularly, dimming in and out rather than flashing. No thunder, no lightening, and no ship out there, nor was the light coming from below, it was definitely INSIDE the cloud. It went on for a long time, most of an hour at least.

And -- this is hard to describe -- the cove was U-shaped and a road went around the U to the right and then curved back sharply, I knew this b/c my boyfriend at the time and I had just driven that road to get there. So from our perspective, cars traveling along that road took the curve and disappeared. I saw lights like headlights start to go up the right side of the U, but rather than disappear around the curve at the top of the U, they launched out over the ocean, hovered for about five seconds, and then disappeared. They did NOT fall and no one else seemed to notice, nor was there any report of an accident later -- I checked.

I have no idea what I saw.

Also once as a child of about 6 or 7 I woke up suddenly from a very strange dream which I don't remember now, lying on my stomach. I lifted my head up from the pillow and saw my own face looking back at me, all in pastel colors. I was so freaked out I ran into my parent's room.

Jeez now I can't stop. This is not paranormal I don't think, but still very weird. Once on a highway in Sacramento I saw someone dressed in full regalia as Death -- skull, sickle, hooded robe and all -- riding a motorcycle full tilt doing a wheelie.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
Several years ago, on a sunny Saturday afternoon I walked down a downtown street with my ex. All of a sudden an old lady in tidy clothes approached and stopped right in front of me. She looked in her early 70's and had an impressive smile on all over her face in every wrinkles. Apparently she didn't look insane or didn't look like one of the panhandlers who I had often met in a downtown area.

She asked me, "Are you a Father?"

I said, "No". I didn't even go to church.

Then she rephrased and asked, "Are you a priest?"

"No."

"Are you a pastor, ministor, preacher?"

"No, No, No.", and I turned to my way.

Because I didn't even wear a suit or holding the Bible at that time, I couldn't understand why this stranger kept asking the same question. I have never heard I looked like a priest or something. Maybe she suffered a form of dimentia. But, the weirder thing is whenever I recalled, the scene comes in very very bright light.

I once saw a meteorite close enough to hear it crackling, and it still disappeared before it could hit the ground. It was a weird green-orange color that I've never seen since.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
It was the early eighties near Halloween. My brother and
I were driving the canyons above Saddleback Valley in So.
Cal and enjoying a beautiful cali day. We were having a
great convo and were in high spirits. We came around a
bend and came to a stop. There on the side of the road
was an animal that we could not recognize. It had been
set on fire and all you could see was blackened flesh and
very white teeth. Bigger than a dog. It looked like it
had crawled to this spot and died. The weirdest part, tho,
was the palpable sence of evil in the air. Our moods just
dropped to horror and despair. We quickly left and went
home.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
I was makin some coco one night before bed. My stove was natural gas. I turned around and walked to the fridge to grab some milk, and when I turned around to head back for the stove...

My cat was standing on the stove. His tail was completely engulfed with fire. He was happy, and he was wagging his tail in a happy way which made the flames make this WHOOSH WHOOSH sound as you would imagine. I instantly dropped the milk on the floor, took 2 enormous steps forward, put one hand on his back, and shot my other hand right into the flames at the base of his tail. I then SWOOSHED my hand up his tail, and the fire was OUT!

It was like my instincts KNEW that it would work. Holy shit. The cat had no idea what had happened, and just jogged off. I'll bet his cat bath later was yucky.

 Quoting: Freethinker

It came through an electrical outlet in my Living Room once.

It EXPLODED (like a shotgun going off) directly over the unplugged (Safety First!) plug of my Brand-New 200w Sony Amplifier.

Blew a circuit board inside the unit in half. Not so weird, but interesting.

I've actually seen SO MANY truly inexplicable things in my life... too many to count.
