Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
I don't count ghosts as being anything weird so I would have to say a strange creature my husband and I saw.

He had been in law enforcement his whole life and just didn't believe in paranormal things and used to make fun of the paranormal experiences that I had over the years.

We lived about five miles up a mountain with a narrow and windy road with no shoulder in places. One night we were going into town and when we came out of a long curve this creature came up the embankment on the passenger side, saw us, and leaned back to avoid being hit.

It was about 6 to 7 feet tall, tan colored fur, had hooves on the two hind feet it was standing on, a body structure of a horse (but standing on two feet straight up like a man), had the head of a wolf or dog. The weirdest thing though was that it had strange arms that it was flailing around that looked more like thick tentacles and appeared to have more than two of them. How many I couldn't tell since it was whipping them around back and forth.

When we first came out of the curve my husband started braking when we were still a ways from it so we got a fairly good look. When we passed it I could see how huge it was since I was on the passenger side. I was only about 6 inches from the thing because of the narrow road. Luckily, it was winter and I had the window up.

My husband turned around at the first road and we went back. The thing was gone. My husband was really shook up. I told him we should report it but he didn't want to and said that they would never believe him. He passed away about five years later but would bring it up to me often. It stayed on his mind and really bothered him. He never really got over it.

I told him not to worry because it was just something coming from another dimension. That seemed to bother him more.

I've seen a couple of other oddities (rods) but this was by far the strangest.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
I just read this whole thread (and realized that I posted way back on page 4 or 5 or something, lol).

As I was reading the replies, a few things popped out at me. They are in no order and are likely unrelated.

Panthers: I have a beef with the MSM and panthers that goes back to 1989 or so, when there was a rash of panther sightings in the county where I lived - Cumberland County, NJ. There was definitely a panther on the loose as evidenced by a few footprints, a handful of witnesses and some missing chickens, and as documented by the local newspaper. At that time, the local news pointed out that the area was home to a panther statue erected by early Italian immigrants as well as a Panther Road because there were panthers there when the people arrived. Fast forward to 2009 or thereabouts ... my mom's friend saw a panther in the vicinity of Panther Road, took a so-so camera photo, and called the local news. Local news never elaborated on the Panther history. The story was picked up by the national news and our friend and her pic were teased across America for thinking there were panthers in South Jersey. What pisses me off is they wanted to ridicule rather than research. Had they research, they would have found a history of such sightings dating back well over a hundred years. They also would have realized that cougars/mountain lions are not typically black and these black panther sighting were unusual AND had a history in this area.

Mismatched head/body: I too saw (waited on in a restaurant, actually) a man whose head was so so small and it didn't seem to move with the rest of his body. I don't know if microcephalic people have normal intelligence but this guy was normal except it seemed he moved his head with his body and could not twist his neck. This made me think that if there was ever a person whose head was transplanted onto his body, I was waiting on him. lol.

A friend, not me: in 2000 my friend was doing laundry in his home one night and he was in a sore mood having just got dumped. He told me raised his head from what he was doing and saw a gold orb explode into thousands of gold droplets that trickled down to his hand and he felt them landing on his hand in an electrical way but with no shock. Normally I'd call that a change in blood pressure after changing positions but within a few days day he happened upon an irate man sswinging a baby by one arm in the middle of the road. My friend snuck up behing the guy and grabbed the baby with one hand and restrained the guy by the neck with the other until other people came to help. He was not a big guy at all but held the dude with one hand and the baby with the other. He saved that baby.

Me - dopplegangers: I was on vacation in Alaska with my former fiancee and it was the night we got engaged. We were drinking at some hot springs "resort" outside of Fairbanks with a guy named Mike - also my x-fiancee's name - who was a cable installer He was an AK local who lived a few hours away, orginally from Minnesota. We talked to dude for hours. I have a thing for faces and I remember this guy like it was yesterday (it was 2000). About two weeks after arriving home we switched from DSL to cable and SAME dude name Mike came and installed it - in Pennsylvania. Same face, glasses, round build, same name. There have been a few other of these guys in my travels but none I'm as sure of as Mike.

I used to walk to work down an alley between an abandoned (abandoned for worship anyway but still kept up) synagogue and a Mason Lodge. I always giggled at the capstone which dedicated the lodge on Oct 22, 1911 (beauce I have an 11 thing). It was a 1-car paved alley where one car would have to back out if another was coming. For days on end there was a green pickup blocking the with hard/loud music blarking from inside and tinted windows rolled up and a figure inside. The car had mason stickers on the back and a mason license plate. One day the window was rolled down and the guy inside was smoking and looked right at me and leered - he looked evil - he had bleach blonde hair and a real old face ... shortly thereafter the synagogue's fence was knocked down and the mason trucks were parked every day on their front lawn. Someone put a small banner up out front of the synagogue that said "Masons are Anti-Semitic" yet there the green pickup sat every day. Guy creeped me out.

Out that same mason lodge when walking out of work I thought for a few minuted I walked into either another time or a movie set. I came upon a "parade" going about 5mph that included noting but road equipment (steamrollers to be exact - at least i think - big tractor things which big rollers for asphalt). People on both sides of the busy road stood transfixed and the workers on the steamrollers seemed out of time (they were dressed really plain - no Steelers caps (I was in WV) or college sweats or Carrhart insignias) and not one looked around they all stared ahead. I actually looked around for movie cameras because it just seemed so so spooky.

I saw what I though was a helicopter but then I noticed it had no tail and made no noise. It didn't last long before it went behind the treeline. I also saw some sient jet-like things at tree level but I know those were military so i assume the copter thing was too.

The guy on the motorcycle doing a wheelie dressed as death: thats a Grateful Dead fan. There's an album cover like that.

I don't "see" too much supernatural weirdness (I see a whole lot of other weirdness). My weirdness comes in the form of saying a phrase - an unusual one - and then that phrase is repeated in the radio within 10 seconds. Or I call out a longshot - seeing an old friend at a bar or who will win the game or whatever - and it happens. I think of a friend and she calls.

I wish I saw more weirdness. I know it's there. The synchronicities in print and thought are good, but I'd love to see a leprechaun or fairy or whatever ...

I want to see the stick tree people!!! I've always suspected that they are there!!! :-)

What a great thread.

Sorry so long - I got carried away!

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
i was awake at home one night when i got an odd feeling in my room. it seemed like something was moving, so i turned the light on, ....I saw it appear at the foot of my bed. It looked like a man but see through....allmost "cloaked"...I tried to rationalize it, to no avail. I instead layed back down and tried to ignore it, then it walked to the head of my bed , squated down and looked right at me...its eyes were like grey tunnels. It then began to beat its fist into its other open palm. I then freaked out and began to pray out loud. My ceiling fan light (wich was on) began to get very bright. I blinked and it was in the corner of my room shaking its fist in the air as if it were angry. I blinked again and it was all gone.

Re: What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
I have seen what I call the Others. They seem to be average people. Always men. Very ordinary. Extremely so.

But they don't belong. They are watchers. They show up at traumatic events-- sometimes big ones, sometimes small ones.

I used to think that I was schizophrenic and seeing things. But other people see them, too. It's just that they don't really GET that they are seeing something that doesn't belong.

They even sometimes interact with people. Here's an example, that kind of shows the cognitive dissonance people display around them, and the kind of things they tend to gravitate towards.

________________

I was very young, and I was staying at a motel. It was a bit of a dive, but hey.

Anyhow, there was this hooker that lived in the complex also. She had a little toddler, a boy. That little sweetheart just broke my heart. She would set him down, and make him stay that way all day long while she slept. She turned the TV on, and he watched TV and sat in the same exact place ALL THE TIME.

Yes, I did call CPS on her. They came, but they called her first... and so she bought food for him (all he got before that was cheerios and reconstituted powdered milk-- 1%).

So, this is the situation that the Other was watching.

I saw him the first time at the bus stop. He stood off to the left of it, near a trash can beside a telephone pole. People walked past him, going around him as if he were a homeless bum or something distasteful. But he looked like an average guy to me.

Sometimes, they'd even talk to him, and he seemed to answer pleasantly enough.

I knew him for what he was at that time. A while later, I saw him across the allyway from our little dive motel. He was in either place for about a week. I asked other people, "Do you see that man?" They all would answer yes. When I stated he'd been hanging around an unnatural amount of time, they completely blew it off.

Then one day, I saw him go in to the hooker's home. He came out, and the next day I chanced to run into her. I asked her who he was, and at first she seemed completely confused, as if she didn't think anyone had been there. Then she said, "Oh yeah, him" after I described him, "he's the plumber."

I asked what was wrong with the plumbing that he could fix it that fast. She thought for a moment, and then said, "Oh, no, that was Bill. He's my friend from back East."

With some more prying about "where back east," she then changed it to a new story about him being a John. I finally decided that she, like others I have asked about these Others... really didn't know or remember. Yet she was still trying to find an explanation for him having been there. More for her own sake, I posit, than mine.

Two days later, I went to the bus stop. I would only go when there were other people there, because he was usually there.

This was right after the CPS refused to do anything to help little Bryce.

When I was about to get on the bus behind the other person, the Other stopped me, "Sandi." I turned to him. He said, "No one will ever believe you, so don't bother to tell them."

I didn't see the same one again after that. But there was a new one there, and he was the same.

This was one of the less than a handful of times that one of Them has openly acknowledged me. So they know I can see them, and that I GET that they don't belong.

But I don't know what it all means. I can't explain it. I don't know their motive or their purpose. They make me, and other people, extremely uncomfortable.

There has been one there at all the worst times of my life, too. Just watching.

I know that I'm not making them up, or hallucinating them, because others talk to and interact with them. They DO do very strange things like stand in the same place for days. Things people SHOULD think are plain peculiar, yet for some reason don't seem to find remarkable at the time.

I don't claim to understand it. I can't pretend to explain it. But I do know it's very, very strange.

Heh, I've erased like 5 posts.

Yes, I watch Fringe. I watch it with a strange, terrified sort of fascination. For so much of my life, I've kept absolute silence about the Others. This was beaten into me from practically infancy.

There's so much I would like to say. Yet such a deep fear against saying it. Plus, it's all jumbled up, trying to come out, yet afraid to come out.

Let's put it this way. The strangest part of my life is that I was taught that I am the most ordinary of humans imaginable... and yet as I begin to face my life straight on (or mostly), I begin to realize that I and my life experience are ANYTHING BUT ordinary.

Watching Fringe has allowed me to begin speaking. When I watch it, I have to wonder if it's not someone like me, speaking to anyone else like me who might exist. But then I get scared, because I'm supposed to be exceptionally average and ordinary in every way...

I guess I'll leave this post this time, despite the courage it takes to do so. Some fears die hard.

I'd have to say a suicidal deer.

I saw a deer run onto the beach, prance through all the people sunbathing on July 4th, then swim out through all the breakers about 1/4 mile, then drown.

It really was VERY sad. It's still very clear in my mind.
Everyone just stood, shocked and staring as it swam out to sea.

So what's the strangest thing you've seen? Something paranormal? Something just bizarre?

A UFO?
