That is what we do but we do it whenever we want. We like spontaneous giving. December is like any other month to us.

I think it's neet you don't wrap your presents. My mother and I have grown to hate wrapping Christmas presents through the years. We finally wrapped them the other night, it's a pain in the ass.

Hell, I don't even have a tree.

If someone helped me put it up and down, then maybe. But - pfft.

I did some baking and made some silly reindeers out of candy canes. Bought some toys for tots. Bought a few obligation presents for in-laws.

We will cook some cool meals and spend time together.
Personal responsibility - try it sometime. Quit blaming others for your bad choices. Consequences happen.

Re: In My House, We don't Have Wrapped Christmas Presents
we have tradition with our now 4 year old that we buy, wrap and place her presents under the tree with her......she thinks she knows everything she is getting already and has exhibited remarkable patience while her gifts sit under the tree..........

and yes...she does not believe santa is real because we told her he's not........

Re: In My House, We don't Have Wrapped Christmas Presents
I guess I am different in this regard and actually like to wrap gifts.

This year, the wrapping is going to be the best part I am afraid but at least it is colorful and festive.

One year when the kids were little I didn't wrap the gifts and thought I would tell them they don't always come wrapped but one of them accused his brother of unwrapping all of them!

Tissue paper is cheap and I tie a mean bow. It's the thought that counts.

Then you reject Christ.
Well it seems so real I can see it
And it seems so real I can feel it
And it seems so real I can taste it
And it seems so real I can hear it
So why can't I touch it?
So why can't I touch it?

That's what those Christmas bags are for! It's so easy to drop the gift in and you can use tissue paper to conceal.

Fuck Christmas. Nowhere in the bible does it say to celebrate it. When my youngest figured out that Santa makes no logical sense I stopped wrapping presents. Now I just buy them what they want and get it over with. They don't ask for much.
Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support!

I don't celebrate a pagan holiday by consuming more of the planet. Christmas is for braindead drones who want to be accepted by others. It's stupid and wasteful and most people actually lie to their kids about the holiday.

Re: In My House, We don't Have Wrapped Christmas Presents
My daughter is 2. I don't know what I want to tell her about "Santa Clause." I believe in celebrating the holiday, but I don't like the Santa lie. I figured it out by the time I was 5 and didn't see the point. I'm perfectly happy and not depressed. I don't see the need for Santa. I mean, seriously, if you did the whole Santa thing when you were little, did you think Santa and God were buddies? They both can see what you are doing, know if you've been good, etc. It seems weird to me. I'm not rejecting Christmas as the celebration of the birth of Christ, but I don't understand modern Christmas.

i reckon for the most part the santa clause thing is about conscience...

be good...decent..and you shall be rewarded...how? a matter of opinion..

you also could say santa is a bribe..be good and get presents..

Stop the madness. No more capitalist Christmas shopping!
It's time to all work as one, where everyone is equal. Spread the wealth amongst us all. The healthcare is just the begining of the end to this testostorone induced insanity.

Children want to feel loved and that their parents love them and are happy. That's about all it takes to make little kids happy.

They will be fine with or without the Santa part as long as the love is there.

I never said it did. I just hate the argument that we are celebrating Jesus's birthday. If he wanted it to be a celebration then it would say so in the bible like the others. Same goes for Easter.
