My friend is member of Ordo Templi Orientis
How can I convince him that he should quit? Or maybe leave him alone?

He is born in Roman Catholic family and he believes in God. He told me that OTO membership is 'something new' to him.

strange.

I don't know man, I have a buddy in Denver who told me a few years ago he had joined the OTO and now I haven't heard from him since. He was fascinated with Crowley and such and the thing I want to say to those folks is don't they know that Crowley ended up a broken junkie dying in the gutter? so maybe not the best role model? Jack Parsons created the American OTO and he was blown up in an explosion so where exactly do you think this stuff leads?

May ask what you folks do in the OTO?????

I understand some info may be confidential. you can only tell what you want to give out.
Thanks in advance.
Personally I lean more Rosicrucian. Nothing THAT controversial about them.

Yes, they are. I actually signed up for some home courses. The money ran out, so I had to stop. Still have some of their materials and an honroary Rosicrucian membership card. I'm thinking of restarting training one day when I can afford it.
Rosicrucians don't have the "History" that other organizations have.

Re: My friend is member of Ordo Templi Orientis
It's best to let your friend be rather then plead with him. There is a good chance he will leave it behind on his own when he is ready. I personally have encountered a handful of OTO people in my day, and even more in similar orders. Most of them seem to have experienced some pretty dire unintended consequences from living this lifestyle. Others who have questioned where this path leads to have done so quite accurately.

I would opt for leaving him alone as he may
need to experience this in order
to find what he really needs and it probably
isnt the OTO.Sometimes folks are just naturally curious
about what's allegedly hidden yet is visible if
you have a heart that sees.

Re: My friend is member of Ordo Templi Orientis
I think you should do some research, invite him out to dinner and let him know why you might be frightened for him. At least if you tell him your consious will be clear if any thing bad happens. It's only fair to warn him ONCE and THEN let it go. Good luck Op.

Don't tell him, he might report this to them and they might do something terrible.
They always do, don't risk it. If your friend wants to stay within the society then let him.
