open help the want adds in your town and try to get a job in your field . medical jobs seem to be avaiable or a handful of computer programers jobs or folks with master degree positions. or very few low pay starve to death chit jobs . that will not pay mosest rent food and transportation cost and stay well .no money for doctors . this is what our highly skilled and med skill and low skilled people are facing . many cannot hire up on low wages cause they will not earn enought to survive at all let alone those who must pay child support issues ... or even keep a car insured and sound . this is where americans aaare now.. moving does not help most unless they are hired up ahead of time out of town.. chasing around the country to find work is not possible for most they are too broke to travel the country and live every where while chasing pie in sky jobs..

They have homes, families, kids and they deserve to be assisted by the system they supported for that 20 years, for at least 1 fuckin' year.

OP, I am in my 50's and I have lived and worked in the U.S. my entire life. However, I have been employed for the past 2 years because there are not enough jobs.

I apply for every job I can find. I've had some interviews, but there are many, many people who apply for each job that becomes available.

WE WANT TO WORK. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH JOBS.

THE ECONOMY IS WORSE THAN IT HAS EVER BEEN THAT I CAN REMEMBER.

Sorry if I got the name wrong but wasn't Tommy Thompson the Gov of Wisconsin and started workfare? You could actually have a job, albeit part time while you were working on getting off of welfare? I believe it was a 12 week program and it actually worked as most good, honest people don't want to be on the gov dole. However, with current systems, you can't work and get welfare or unemployment.
