OP...look at a map.....the Sound is North Shore....nice try...

I'm a former Long Islander, and you're right, the op is full of it and was never there.

I remember when this happened. It was NEVER known as the L.I. Sound crash...what a load.

It crashed off Center Moriches, Great South Bay.

Having said that, I still believe the plane was hit by a missile that went up and hit it. There were plenty of people who were on boats in the bay that were interviewed on TV right after it and said the same thing.

AC is correct. Long Island Sound is bullshit.
I was first on the scene at the Smithpoint Federal Ranger Station on Fire Island. I was there before the police.

Does it really matter? On one hand you have the followers of lucifer. We know they exist. You can't do anything to stop them.

Re: Was TWA Flight 800 downed by a US Navy missile? Quote

We were testing a Littoral based guidance system using overlapping subsystems in tandem on a Long Range S2A, across what was to've been clear airspace at that time, the remote drone was not destroyed but the missile self acquired and rose abruptly to strike the aircraft in question.

It wasn't to be there then, the airspace was pre-reserved for that window and it should have been detained for the remainder of the window.

The missile entered the right wing root area and traversed the aircrafts passenger compartment completely detonating immediately outside over and aft the Left wing.

It was a joint operation with Navy and Army involvement coordinated, and the later (post partial reassembly) removal of those panels and seats marked by the missile propellant and report, I do not understand -except that it was a wake up call to us that our GPS was not yet engineered to precise calibration!

According to sources from Brookhaven labs just near long island a high powered microwave weapon was the DIRECT cause
of TWA 800's demise. It was supposed to take out a missile
being tested from another ship. TWA got caught up in
the cross fire and the rest is history

oh and guess what that MVW was part of ?

SDI the same sdi program the was not supposed to
exists yet caused the deaths of hundreds.

THE MISSLE THEORY IS A RED HERRING DESIGNED TO
CONFUSE AND MISDIRECT YOU FROM THE TRUTH.

SDI IS ALIVE AND WELL contrary to what your govt

What about the counterfeit bearer bonds that were said to be onboard? Anyone have intel on that?

Center Tank theory doesn't jive with me. Boeing wasn't stupid enoungh to put significant current carrying wires in fuel tanks. The only wires in the tanks are VERY low current, and provide fuel quantity indication based on a change in mean capacitance measured by probes sensing a change in overall fuel amount (fuel acting as 'dialectric'). Trust me i've wired these suckers up.

Did hear that an Ageis class ship was in the area.. USS Normandy?

Besides being first on the Fire Island beach, I also found two lifejackets with TWA marking and French writing on them. They were on the bay beach inside of Moriches Bay. This was on Christmas Day of 1996. They had black burn marks on them. I called 911 and turned them in to police after taking close up photos. I didn't want the damn things around the house and the FBI was actively threatning anyone who found wreckage and didn't turn it in.

yes - decades of flying these things and then one happens to blow.

I think the navy was dicking around with civilian aircraft and using them as wargame targets, when some moron actually fired a live round at the plane.

It makes me sick thinking of how corrupt the FBI, NTSB, etc are. There is a special place in hell..

On the evening of July 17, 1996, TWA 800 had been directed onto, and was traveling in, the "Betty Route," the route assigned to commercial planes when parts of Long Island Sound, designated W-105 and W-106, are either in use by the military or reserved for military use. In addition to the formal record provided by the air controller's verbal direction, the FAA log books also confirm that the military had that night reserved, though not necessarily used, W-106 (sometimes pronounced Whiskey-106, sometimes Warning-106).

We do not know what level or intensity of military exercises was underway that night. We do know military craft were in the air and sea at the moment TWA 800 had reached 13,700 feet and began to fall. Directly overhead was a Navy P3 Orion with its transponder turned off: it was 6,300 feet above the passenger plane and had intersected its longitude and latitude within seconds of the moment the catastrophe began. In the airspace beneath TWA 800 a Black Hawk helicopter and an HC-130 plane were flying at an altitude of 3,000 feet: they were five miles north of the commercial liner. A Coast Guard cutter rescue ship, the Adak, was somewhere on the sea below, its precise location in relation to the falling plane unspecified in the official record but given in news reports as nine to twelve miles south. One hundred and eighty-five miles to the southwest was an Aegis cruiser, the USS Normandy: that mileage places it off Maryland's Eastern Shore.

or another possibility - there was a threat to shoot down a plane and the navy was on station to intercept any vessels in the area, however they failed.

Re: Remember TWA Flight 800 in 1996?
Damn...August 1996:

AMERICAN officials are investigating reports that Islamic terrorists have smuggled Stinger ground-to-air missiles into the United States from Pakistan.
Senior Iranian sources close to the fundamentalist regime in Tehran claimed this weekend that TWA flight 800 was shot down last month by one of three shoulder-fired Stingers of the type used by Islamic guerrillas during the Afghanistan war.

The sources said the missiles arrived in America seven months ago after being shipped from Karachi via Rotterdam and on to the Canadian port of Halifax. They claimed an Egyptian fundamentalist group backed by Iran was responsible for smuggling the weapons across the Canadian border into the United States.

The group, the Gama'a al-Islamiya, comprises followers of Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, a blind Egyptian cleric jailed in the United States over the 1993 New York World Trade Centre bombing. It has been waging a war to overthrow the government of President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and has been held responsible for a number of attacks on tourists since 1992, including the murder of 17 Europeans last April.

Re: Remember TWA Flight 800 in 1996?
I've wanted to come forward so many times but it's honestly still scary. I mean we were told point blank by the FBI - You saw nothing leave the ground and just witnessed a tragedy. This was literally within 60-90 minutes of the plane being struck. They made it very clear that the last thing we wanted to do was speak about it. Like I said, there were hundreds told the same thing not just us.

I have to get some sleep but I'll check the thread again when I wake up and am functioning. There's obviously a lot more to the story but like I said, it's scary being told what we were told. I've had this eating away at me since the accident and it just pisses me off that we aren't allowed to share the damn truth!!!

i've heard a lot about this. i think there is some truth to it being a coverup. but who was on the plane that it was so important to destroy it along with 200-300 other people? who, or what, was on that plane?

so was it the Navy, was there a ship
what can you tell us?

There were no naval ships that we could see before the incident. The streak of light that hit the plane came from the ground, not the water. There were hundreds of boats that witnessed it and who knows how many on the ground.

yep I remember hearing similiar that it was a surface to air missle. Later they tried to say it was a faulty wignut or bolt or something in the tail.

Re: Remember TWA Flight 800 in 1996?
This plane was shot down by terrorists off shore, just over the horizon, with a man-portable missile, actually a ballistic projectile (no explosives, just the 'bullet' travelling at mach 2) Something like the Russian 'grail' system.

They thought this was an Israeli El-Al flight, but because of a flight schedule change at JFK, the plane hit was actually TWA 800. The El-Al flight went over shortly thereafter, as the terrorists were cruising away.

THe US Government covered it up at the direct command of Bill Clinton, because the last thing he could allow to happen was for a terrorist mass murder to harm the airline industry and thereby damage his nice pretty economy that was humming along rather nicely, thank-you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 718510

I was always convinced that the Egyptair plane that the pilot allegedly inexplicably crashed into the ocean a few years later was also a terrorist cover up.

There was no evidence the pilot was suicidal but some of the manuevers that he did with the plane were similar to things pilots are trained to do in the case of an immediate terrorist/hijacking threat - one of which is to put the plane into a plunge so that the terrorist or hijackers lose their balance and can then be taken care of. The US refused to release any of the info on the flight recorders to Egyptian authorities either.
