Healthy diet: balanced diet or low fat
Back in the olden days, a balanced diet was a healthy diet. A meal should give similar amounts of energy from protein, fat, and carbohydrates.

But recently a healthy diet seems to have been redefined as "99% FAT FREE!!". If you buy one of those "healthy" frozen food thingies, how are you supposed to balance your diet? Eat a chunk of lard after you eat the frozen food?

If you look at what is in the low fat meals, you'll see that they sure did take out most of the fat somehow. But what's left? Did they put in more protein? No because protein is expensive. They put in more carbohydrates.

A low fat meal is basically a bowl of rice with a few little chunks of meat in it. Why does the government let the food manufacturers get away with selling such crappy food and advertising it as healthy? Oh that's right, the government is in on it. They say that low fat is healthy too.

Go vegetarian and you can stop worrying. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables and avoid highly refined sugar and flour. Processed foods are poison.
Throwing more erroneous useless information into the original arguement.

If at first you don't succeed, perhaps failure is more your style.

Re: Healthy diet: balanced diet or low fat
for a healthy diet you need to consider several variables other than just the balance of foods taken in. when you eat, what you eat at that time, how often you eat, how often you exercise, the amount of sleep you get, etc. but certain types of fats are healthy and necessary in certain amounts for the body to function properly. same goes with carbs.
