Are most eight year olds infatuated with power?

We took field trips to funeral homes, cemeteries and talked about war in many of our sessions. We also took trips to factories and the workers would tell us how nice it was to have a 9-5, bennies, etc. It seemed like they just wanted us to be normal sheep. I'm not saying you had the same experience, just stating mine.

To chime in on this, I simply don't think that they knew what they were doing with us. Here's an interesting article on giftedness: [link to positivedisintegration.com] It's rather enlightening when put into some context. If the theories proposed in it have a correct basis, then it would explain why we aren't super star achievers. We're too busy fighting inner battles in attempt to simply deal with the world. Some of it definitely rang bells within me.

Another possibility... They had funds and such, but no real plan on what the fuck to do with us. The take the money option.

the only elements similar would be theta programming...but this is Not mkultra/monarch etc programming.

love from,

That makes perfect sense, actually. Theta's the state where action becomes automatic... explains calm in crisis mode many of us have in common. Chosen for potential, were we? Maybe we're sleepers for just in case SHTF because I sense a huge "true" patriotic streak in the majority as well. Hmm...

LOL! Based on some of the things that they were doing with us, it would definitely seem that way. Also saw a lot of articles that I couldn't access in regards to experimental education being used on gifted students. Gives an entire new meaning to "damn hippies!". This is where I think we start seeing some similarities with MK-Ultra, Monarch, and etc. Our sensitive natures may have been seen as somewhat of a detriment--hence the mild dissociation being developed in us.

Long time reader, 2nd time poster. (Made a post a year ago asking vaccine questions)

In 1987 at Stevenson Elementary in Mesa AZ I was taken out of class and given several tests. I remember looking at all the tests results with my mother. I was in the top 99 percent in social studies and science and average in everything else.

Soon after testing I remember being told I would have a new teacher and classroom. I still remember how uncomfortable I felt walking in. The desks in the classroom were arranged in a half circle around the teacher. I would say there was a dozen of us. We seemed to never do any type of typical K-12 work.

When I look back on it today, it seems strange the type of things we did. Lots of memory tests. Such as flashing squares filled with colors on the projector screen. Then we would have to repeat the order of the colors. We also played the 'whisper' game a lot. The teacher would whisper a word to one student at the end of the half circle and then that student would have to pass it on to the next. The last child would repeat the word out loud. We would do this over and over till the word was correctly passed between all students.

I always seemed to have social studies work and projects even though it was already my strongest subject. Using the geography of the United States I had to make my own country with laws, punishments, imports and exports. I was asked to make a flag. There were several projects where they would pick an event in history and I would have to re-write it in a way that I thought would make the world a better place. I am 100 percent sure that not all the students were given the same projects.

Someone mentioned a teacher with a puppet. We also had a teacher that would come in every Friday. Her name was Mrs. Self. She taught 2nd or 3rd grade normally but would make the visit to our classroom every week. I remember thinking she was the creepiest person in the world. She had dead eyes. And she made no attempt to be a ventriloquist. Her voice stayed the same and her mouth moved the same. I honestly don't recall what we talked about. Usually it was as a group, sometimes one-on-one. I just remember hating it and wanting to run away. There's a scene in one of the StarWars movies where Luke has crash landed in a jungle area. Where he ends up training with Yoda. I forget what he says exactly but it's something like “Yes you can, Yes you can” or “Yes you will, Yes you will”. It's a nothing scene, shouldn't be scary at all. But to me it's the most terrifying scene of any movie. I remember as a kid thinking that's how Mrs. Self made me feel. Like she was trying to force me to do things I did not want to do.

I stayed with this same group of kids for the next two years. It didn't happen often, but sometimes a child would join us, sometimes leave us. We were the only classroom that had the same students and teacher every year. One day it all just stopped. Our whole class was forced to enter Sousa Elementary, a few miles away from Stevenson. I remember I brought home a re-zoning letter to my mother that stated we had been re-zoned for Sousa. Funny thing is that every student in that class got the same letter. It was mid school year but we were all integrated into a typical classroom setting. For almost three years straight at Stevenson we never did any sort of typical school work. However, We were either on target, or above when we transferred to Sousa. I stayed close friends with one of the students but I did see almost everyone else go to Fremont Jr High and then at Red Mountain High with me.

Side note: I remember a meeting with parents from our class along with the Principal. His name was Mr. Wilcox. I believe it was about being forced into Sousa. It ended in a screaming contest and as we left the school my mother spit on the Principal's car. She then said he was “Mr Without-a-@#$%” “Rhymes with Cox”.
Anyways. Sorry about the long post. I've never been much of a poster but this is something I was excited to read about. Brings back some old memories. Thanks!

TLDR
Me 2 !

"Easier said than done. Something is definitely stored in there but if you don't know the correct file pathways to get there, how do you find it? "

it is there in time and space quite apart from your organic memories- it is a "place" that exists just the same as "when" you experienced. and it always will.

that is how this stuff works- you access the data from "outside" the personal frame of reference - you "come into it"

that is why you have eidetic verbatim recall - "visual" memory- you can go back there anytime.

it is not stored in your brain- it is hard coded into the actual physical matrix of the continuum.

or you can go forward, but you will not have any way to verify the data until later!

Re: Were You Part Of The "Mentally Gifted Minds" Program In California Scools back in the 70's?
I feel like I was offered a choice to have it turned off or play their game... and I took the first option, but seeded reminders for myself so I wouldn't lose it. When I go into a precognitive state, it's always followed by what appears to be mania because it's honestly too much to deal with. I remembered the calming techniques I was taught and learned to hide the fact I had partial recall. I suspect part of the mission here is finding those of us who can still access it who took our own paths... and I'm cool with that. But I still won't be used for a purpose I can't get behind. Nor will I use those talents for silly shit like money or fame.

Someone posted earlier a pdf file concerning giftedness and when I read it (yes, all 29 pages, lmao... while rolling a blunt and sharing with friends, we were asking my friend's Iphone silly shit and such) and this word JUMPED out at me, sparked a memory. Part of all this was figuring out how we had this, how we did it... and they got no where, lol. Anyway...

From: [link to en.wikipedia.org]

Entelechy or entelechia

Entelechy, in Greek entelécheia, was coined by Aristotle and transliterated in Latin as entelechia. According to Sachs (1995, p. 245):

Aristotle invents the word by combining entel (complete, full-grown) with echein (hexis, to be a certain way by the continuing effort of holding on in that condition), while at the same time punning on endelecheia (persistence) by inserting telos (completion). This is a three-ring circus of a word, at the heart of everything in Aristotle's thinking, including the definition of motion.
Sachs therefore proposed a complex neologism of his own, "being-at-work-staying-the-same". Another translation in recent years is "being-at-an-end" (which Sachs has also used).

Entelecheia, as can be seen by its derivation, is a kind of completeness, whereas "the end and completion of any genuine being is its being-at-work" (energeia). The entelecheia is a continuous being-at-work (energeia) when something is doing its complete "work". For this reason, the meanings of the two words converge, and they both depend upon the idea that every thing's "thinghood" is a kind of work, or in other words a specific way of being in motion. All things that exist now, and not just potentially, are beings-at-work, and all of them have a tendency towards being-at-work in a particular way that would be their proper and "complete" way.

Sachs explains the convergence of energeia and entelecheia as follows, and uses the word actuality to describe the overlap between them:

Just as energeia extends to entelecheia because it is the activity which makes a thing what it is, entelecheia extends to energeia because it is the end or perfection which has being only in, through, and during activity.

That can be said of anyone. Many of my "normal" friends are still working through their childhood stuff... I help them with it, but rarely reveal my own to any but the most trusted who get that crazy smart isn't always the best thing to be when the world just sees either or and not both together. Weird... sharing it with strangers here feels easier and more helpful. But then my friends seem to see me as something more awesome than I am and it makes me uncomfortable to add my two cents when it's obvious they don't get it. They didn't then, why would they now?

lol, ahhh, you sound so much like me. That sense of uncomfortableness, a distancing really even with friends though they get drawn to us. I'll reveal bits and pieces personally but never the sum total because that defies the normative expectation of human variation. It's easier to do so here because of that sense of anonymity (the ones most likely to know who we actually are probably already know who we are lol) and commonality. Here, we gain understanding and acceptance without worry of condemnation, fear, panic, or blind ignorance. My own flesh and blood has looked at me fearfully because of who I am--not due to any threat of violence or insanity.

I still give my $.02 anyways though, even when I am certain that they cannot comprehend. I think that our ancient world equivalent would have been oracles or sages. Others instinctively have flocked to us for guidance because they sense that difference (and perhaps another reason why we, instinctively, tend to be reclusive). I do agree that they were trying to figure out the how of things. What I described in response to the image of the E8 is the what of things. The totality of life is interconnected. Another way of looking at it is like phone lines. We just happen to have a way to pick up the phone.

Like you, I could never do this unless I was utterly behind the cause nor would I be capable of doing it for money. Part of this is simply the inconsistency of it. For me, I have to have my entire will behind it and there has to be a pressing need. Someone said earlier in the thread that, post the program, their ESP (hate that word) needed glasses. I can kind of commiserate but I'm not so sure that it was the program that diminished or if I just learned to not do it for fear of being further isolated from others. Using it and seeing that look of fear is not pleasant, especially when my deepest desire has been normalcy and a sense of belonging.

Re: Were You Part Of The "Mentally Gifted Minds" Program In California Scools back in the 70's?
I tend to attempt (and succeed!) at an even emotional keel... action and not reaction. A few years ago, my mom was having issues with her sister not doing her part in my grandmother's care. My mom kept calling me, bitching about it... and I called my aunt and we had harsh words and I told her I wish such and such... then a week later the thing I wished for happened. I felt awful, like I'd played a part and I can tell she blamed me. It taught me not to do that again. But I think the fear comes from that.

In certain states our words hold weight with the forces in the universe and "normal" people sense it. Plus I don't like seeing fear on anyone, especially if I'm the reason for it. Nor do I wish to be exploited for it. I find that most of us here don't wish to compel anyone to do anything, we "get" that everyone has their own choices to make and we're not here to interfere with that. Of course that also makes us as useless as tits on a boar to TPTB, lol. I'm good with that... I figure they know who I am, where I am, everything, so why not share here, eh?

I wonder too, why was I chosen to be in the program. I did teach myself how to read at 4, but that's not so remarkable. I just wanted to know really badly and I kept asking my grandmother what every word I saw was. I eventually figured out how to sound them out and read since I knew the alphabet and the phonetics. I feel like a complete dumbass these days, fast forward 20 years or so. I've done nothing so special or fantastic in my life. I've worked quite a few jobs, served some time in the military, and traveled here and there...nothing special. I know plenty of people who aren't like us, who think confined to the conventional and socially accepted "boxes", and they are generally the ones who are successful. If you want to measure success in terms of material stuff and money.

Yes and yes to the both of you. Have always had a distaste for Mensa. I think by burning down our boxes, some of us may have realized that the material isn't as material as many think. My greatest wealth is in my friends and family. My greatest triumphs are in my interactions with others. If I can change a person's mind from illogical to logic, that to me is a great triumph. I may not be successful by society's definition but I feel like I've done and appreciated more in my life than most. I'd rather be the independent wanderer who questions everything than one who just blindly follows convention.

Were you shown a series of high speed images on a television, not once, but many times?

Was the school psychologist selectively interested in you?

By the late 70's they may have perfected their mind control techniques to the point they could just show films and do "meditation exercises"to get similar results.
sometimes I wonder if any of this past was even real.Maybe it never really happened,or happened in another time line.

Crazy. I too was in the gifted program during elementary school along with 2 other students. I remember basically nothing relating to the actual classroom activity. Vague memories of head down in a darkened classroom but that's about it. Interesting though that my memory is much more vivid surrounding the times when we were allowed to leave the classroom and mess around in the computer lab. Oregon Trail and Math Blaster! :))
