Were you ever removed, many times, from your regular class for "testing"?

Were you shown a series of high speed images on a television, not once, but many times?

Was the school psychologist selectively interested in you?

Ludens have a natural ability to commune with a demonic entity called "Ahriman". Those in the know call him "Rain Man". Many mistakenly believe that he is a part of our own minds but it is well known amongst Ludens that he is a separate entity.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 863003

My Latin is corroded, but doesn't "Ludens" translate to "Players"?????

Here's some Wikipedia regarding "Ludens"

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Luden

Ludens, singular - Luden (людены, люден), are a humanoid race in the fictional Noon Universe created by the Boris and Arkady Strugatsky. They appear principally in the novel "The Time Wanderers". The name "Luden" is probably a reference to Homo Ludens, a 1938 book by Johann Huizinga, and the Russian term lyudi (люди), "people".

Ludens are born human, but possess latent mental powers far beyond those of normal humans. These abilities (referred in the text only as the Third Impulse System) can be activated and developed, the process that takes several years. It is not clear from the book who initiated the first Luden.

Ludens view themselves as a distinct race, and claim to have "different interests" from humanity at large, in some instances claiming to be above traditional human morality. The Ludens routinely conduct experiments on humans and alter their minds in order to further their own means, but according to Daniel Logovenko in "The Time Wanderers", over ninety percent of Ludens have no interest in humanity.

Yes it has woke us up and now you need to ALL GO and read H2 on E2 and H3 on E3.

Put the name in google and it will pull up the website and you can continue to wake up...

Do this brothers and sisters as the author is one of us.......

It will fill in many gaps for many of you as it did me...

I googled this and I get nothing.

Just link or, well... you stink.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 764206

I'm not the one who posted the info on H2 on E2 but found this link that would be fitting with the premise of this thread and GLP.

[link to www.h2one2.com]

H3onE3 uncovers the theoretical elements, metaphors and similarities in regurgitated Homeric characters built into most media art, literature and movies to control an engineered NWO society. The book will expose the true Da Vinci code, solve the secrets of the Freemason symbol, which has origins in Solomon's Temple and unearth both mysteries as a trinity obtained by solving the real Riddle of the Sphinx. H3onE3 un-earths two very different prophesied Homeric characters which have evolved from Greek mythology into modern interpretations. Similarities between the traditional Greek gods like Prometheus and the gothic anti-Christ or warrior Christ will be forecast.

Re: Were You Part Of The "Mentally Gifted Minds" Program In California Scools back in the 70's?
Why did my mind hide these memories from me?

Why did we all seem to meet up here, when I NEVER meet anyone in real life who has even heard of the GATE program?

By the way, all of my siblings were in GATE as well. Nothing exceptional about my parents. My mother is really good at art and my father is really good with math. Neither really did much with their lives.

Do you guys find yourself easily bored with what "normal" people find interesting? I don't watch much tv, unless it's documentary style programs (History Channel, National Geographic, etc). My wife hates that. She says that I like "boring tv." I find it very interesting and am constantly looking for new things to learn about online.

Here's another question. When you stumble across something that really interests you, do you obsessively research it and try to know EVERYTHING about the subject? I do. I'll spend days researching info on something that has caught my attention...again...drives my wife nuts! :)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 586188

If my wife read the quote above she would swear that I posted this. I'm constantly accused for caring what's going on in the world more than I care about what's going on in my own home.

As for me, I can identify with most everything everyone has posted in this thread. The only thing that is generally different is that I can't remember ANYTHING from the Gifted & Talented Program other than I was in it. I remember taking tons of tests, doing puzzles, interviews, and writing but always one on one. Never in a group. I read many books that were given to me but I do not remember from whom. I remember nothing of any kind of organized group or class or anything like that.

Throughout high school I rarely ever did homework but squeaked by due to acing all my tests. Teachers were annoyed by me for my constantly questioning nature. School was extremely boring and I ended up being kind of a class clown.

The military became very interested in me due to my very high test scores. I had no interest in being in the military but I was already a professional musician playing in the symphony orchestra at 14 so I was promised a transfer to the band one I arrived at my unit. I wanted to travel the world and be in the 82nd band. I was put in a job that required high security clearance and my commander blatantly said there was no way I was going to "waste away" in the band. I was not a good soldier. Being told what to do and think without question did not sit well with me so I was promptly labeled a "slug".

I am now currently (out of the military) doing what I'm good at... Solving complex technical problems and designing new innovative networks and infrastructure. I'm known as the "crazy tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist" throughout my workplace which is fine with me.

On a side note, I'm relatively new to this forum (about 3 months). This can me considered a light introduction being as this topic has brought me out of lurk mode.

how about the picture relay lesson?

I vaguely recall around 75 and 76 and doing some tests and picture questions as well as speaking to a lady with a puppet. The name of the program was called SRA??

Re: Were You Part Of The "Mentally Gifted Minds" Program In California Scools back in the 70's?
this is really a trip. you all have sparked some memories in me that have been buried or totally forgotten. i remember now, after reading this thread, that i also tested at a 12th grade reading level in 2nd or 3rd grade. this must have been what got my families attention. i remember a lot of talk about that, between my close family members.

the peg board game and other brain teasers mysteriously flooded my home shortly after this. everyone would buy these games for my dad and claim that he loved them, but thinking back, he rarely messed with them. the "toys" were probably for me and i had no idea.

i also read an amazing amount throughout my childhood, which i always thought was normal and just assumed my particular friends were stupid and lazy for not doing the same. the SAR tests...this is one i remember. in 3rd or 4th grade i ended up pissing people off because i finished the entire catalog that was available in my class before some had even started.

feels like i must have snapped when i hit puberty. i've always wondered why i took such a drastic turn. i got into very dark things as a teen. and the funny thing is, none of my friends were - they just kinda went along with it, my close friends that is. i read crowley, lavey and even the necronomicon a few times before i was 16. in my mid 20s i visited a psychic who saw right through me. she told me to leave the darkness behind or else. it took me a few years, but in my own time i did as she said without even realizing why.

everyone please keep sharing...i'm sure there will be a lot more added when people get home from work and log in...

Maybe if 2012 turns out to be true, we will all get a spot on the Ark.

Like I said earlier as an AC, we were basically the only students allowed to use the early Apples in our school. We got to play games on them and learned a basic understanding of the programming language BASIC.

We also took tons of tests. Most of which I don't remember. I do remember the images on a screen, IQ tests, and peg puzzles.

We also had our special library sessions. Our school library was divided into age groups. We were allowed to read anything we wanted but we had to choose books from higher age brackets.

I also remember the visualization sessions in dark rooms.

I am kinda creeped out by all of this. I posted on the first page earlier from home, but I'm now at work. I was the first to state that I don't remember hardly anything from the GATE classes.

I've read the thread and some of what people remember is triggering memories for me.

Neither really did much with their lives.

wow so much of this thread has brought back long forgotten memories. I do not recall ever being in a MGM or GATES program but I do not remember being in 3rd-5th grade either. I can't remember teachers or ever being in class. I can recall having read books previously mentioned, the puzzles previously shown, speed reading, and the above where I will research something or do something until I master it then will drop it and move on to the next thing. I was a very talented artist but have not picked up a pencil to draw in many years. so what are the commonalities? missing time, intelligent but none of us are captains of industry, military service seems to be pronounced but I don't know that is common to all. this is a very interesting topic. I hope the OP comes back

Re: Were You Part Of The "Mentally Gifted Minds" Program In California Scools back in the 70's?
let me expand on this.

i was in a school for the gifted AND i was pulled out a lot. in 7th grade, i basically had my own curriculum and continued with special lessons all throughout my education.

my brothers did this as well.

Same here nan I was pulled aside every second day, given the speed drills by staring into this covered optical viewer and pressing certain buttons for certain patterns.

I was allowed to stay in the library and read all day if I wanted to.. the regular curriculum didn't seem to be as challenging for me as it was for the other students.

I was encouraged to write short stories about the news events I'd seen on television. Sometimes they'd let me watch those duck and cover type documentaries and write short essays on what I felt about those..

I remember laughing at them and telling them that I think they just wanted all the bodies in a nice neat pile.

They didn't have a name for the program here in Northern Ontario all they would say is that it was a pilot project for gifted children.

we were also allowed to research whatever we wanted to at the libary. writing was a big focus.

we had selected titles we focused on as well. had to examine: brave new world, 1984, grapes of wrath, of mice and men... all in 4th/5th grade.
 Quoting: nanuke

very interesting thread...
and yes i remember gate...
palo alto '68-'74...
i was given free reign at the library...
and required reading 5th grade...a wrinkle in time...

Early '60s--anyone else recall those vid projectors with the "guillotine" action that would flash a word onto the screen for a millisecond and you had to identify the word?

We had those. Looking back on it, makes NO sense at all to use with 2nd graders. None.

I saw someone else mentioned the SRA cards. I read the whole box, aced the tests, etc. The only one I remember, though, was one about the hanging gardens of Babylon. For some reason that one stood out. I ask because in recent years those letters have negative connotations for some people.

I was not in California, this was not MGM or any other named program, but the same thing everywhere I went .. we moved around all the time, dad in USAF and then MIL IND COMPLEX type jobs - I seemed to know quite a bit, but I had NO WORLD HISTORY / Western Civ. etc. in school that I can recall .. NONE BUT that which came through literature, except that I kept coming across the feudal system and emphasis on the architecture of greece and rome? I guess that's because I was in Catholic Schools? Did they actually keep us from World History? I mean I had NO IDEA unless I had read Shakespeare or The Song of Roland or the likes..

My daugther is in GT, gifted and talented, im proud of her because we (her parents) are from Mexico, we speak like 40-50% english, i thought that school for her was going to be hard because spanish was her first language, but it is 4 years of her being the top of her class, is funny this thread, a coincidence perhaps, today I receive a letter of the DUKE TIP, a program of DUKE University, to enroll our childm does anybody know something about that program?

I don't know about that program specifically, but traditionally Duke University has been highly involved in psychic research programs.

This is just the tip of the Duke iceburg:

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

"Joseph Banks Rhine (September 29, 1895 – February 20, 1980) (usually known as J. B. Rhine) was a botanist who later developed an interest in parapsychology and psychology. Through the parapsychology lab at Duke he also lectured on mainstream psychological topics.[citation needed] Rhine founded the parapsychology lab at Duke University, the Journal of Parapsychology, and the Foundation for Research on the Nature of Man. He also initiated the Parapsychological Association. He coined the term ESP.

I am going to open up another can of worms on here but I think it is time since we have already established that these memories are shared.

I went to run some errands and I thought that someone would have mentioned some of the other common testing in schools but I was wrong. I mentioned before that my brain has not been compartmentalized in such a way so I remember every single detail of child hood. No matter how seemingly insignificant.

I cannot determine how many of you have scoliosis but I can safely determine that about 90% or more of you were tested for it at school. The goal of the Ludens was 100% screening.

Screening. That is what it was for. Locating individuals with certain traits. The type of scoliosis we were looking for was hereditary. We Ludens know that this is a trait that we commonly possess and it is normal for it to occur more than once in a Ludens family.

That's very funny. Lice is a real problem amongst school children. If you do your research on scoliosis, you will see that it isn't nearly as large an issue. Most have very small curvatures, it is hardly anything to make a panic about.

Dang GLP had me logged out earlier...

Anyway, I was just thinking about calling my elementary school to see if I could obtain my "records."

I would be very interested to see what they say about this time period and the gifted program I was shipped off to.

Has anyone ever done this?

Re: Were You Part Of The "Mentally Gifted Minds" Program In California Scools back in the 70's?
Yeah, this thread did bring back some funny memories.

Like when I was a freshman in high school, say 1983, our "honors" english class went to New York to see a play. After the play, the teachers were like, "OK, everybody meet back here at 3.30". I remember thinking that this was a big mistake, and was curious to see who made it back.

40 or so "country" kids, around 13 years old, released at 42nd and Broadway for 3 or 4 hours.

Everybody made it back, but I know I did some crazy shit on my time out.
