He strutted in, didn't bother looking at anyone, didn't nod, didn't smile, and the men with him pulled out his chair and flocked around him like he was a king or something. He was rude to the wait staff and ignored the men at his large table like they weren't there. He didn't act anything like a "man of God". |

In a statement on his network's website, spokesman Chris Roslan said Mr Robertson never said the earthquake - which is feared to have left tens of thousands dead - was God's wrath. He added: "History, combined with the horrible state of the country, has led countless scholars and religious figures over the centuries to believe the country is cursed". |

Well, at that time ...his church owned it and there was some kind of school around the corner. The whole place was pretty large. and yes...it was a VERY nice hotel. People across the Internet are calling it up and reporting back what happened Quoting: lapis lazuli 847343Call them up and give them a piece of your mind. Do not be abusive! These are just regular people volunteers at the 700 club. But do be firm and don't hold back your true opinion Go ahead and vent! You know you want to I despise televangelists and anyone holier-than-thou trying to get money from people by "selling the idea of snake oil" but, I'm pretty sure that Haiti made a pact with the devil in the 1800's. I read fluent Haitian, and this was some info that I ran across many years ago in some old agricultural documents I was studying during an aqueduct restoration in Les Cayes. Something about Napoleon. |

pixie User ID: 757473 United States 01/14/2010 09:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | He has a right to Freedom of Speech. And he's Christian. And a Bible believer. If he believes God saved not Sodom and Gomorrah or Lot's wife, or ... Then he would perceive a Nation, People who practice voodoo, made a satanic pact with the devil ( he didn't make that story up, Haiti made that pact by sacrificing a pig and asking satan to deliver them from the rule of France ) ... then it's understanding how he could or would come to that understanding that Haiti is a cursed Nation and God judged them for worshipping the devil. I don't agree. But that is the apparent perception of Robertson. And perhaps many other Christians. They stated the same thing about Katrina. God's Wrath. And both share a background in voodoo. It was insensitive. Glad he didn't bring up the voodoo pracitce of zombism. Documented by a Scientist. Anthropologist I believe. Strange things. Who knows. Freedom of Speech. "Death to America" "Death to Christians". That's pretty freakin' free, no? Know what I'm sayin'? PS And Christian Missionaries have been working and living and loving in Haiti for quite some time. When all else forsook them, pretty much. |

He's paraphrasing the Bible and I'm sure he'd say the same thing if it happened here in America. Don't blame the messenger. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 831743in Luke chapter 13 Jesus talks about a disaster that happened in his time. A tower that some men were building in Siloam collapsed killing 18 people. He asked if anybody thought those 18 people were evil or that this was an act of judgment? His answer was no it was not an act of judgment. In other words sometimes bad things just happen to people on this earth. That is according to Jesus. But of course most Christians don't listen to Jesus or read his words or pay much attention to him |

It's possible Jesus kept all those people from being murdered for witchcraft. |

He accused an entire nation of making a pact with Satan to throw off the French oppressors. They did no such thing. They turned to their former African religions in their desperation but which HAVE NO CONCEPT OF SATAN WHATSOEVER period. The old fool don't even know shit for history. In the end it was the yellow fever that sent the French slavemasters packing NOT SATAN. Methinks PR made a pact with Satan just to make Xians look bad. Except there's no Satan. shift happens |
