Don't entertain romantic thoughts about being homeless. There's nothing good about it a'tall.

Trying to eat, trying to keep clean, trying to get warm in the winter. Just trying to find a place to rest, let alone sleep in peace. Stinking, knowing you stink, knowing everyone knows you stink, and being helpless to remedy the situation. And little things like wanting a cup of coffee, no, can't have that, no money, day after day after month.

Homelessness is a concentration camp without barbed wire, guard towers, or dogs. It's all-consuming.

If you think you're suffering now (and you are) it's nowhere near as totally consuming as what awaits you if you have the misfortune to become homeless. And if you become homeless through conscious choice, you'll have alot of compelling reasons to hate yourself within a few weeks.
